Review: I can only comment about the Evans-Sontag portion of the book, a subject which I have researched extensively. This chapter was riddled with inaccuracy. One photo of the wounded John Sontag was captioned, "John Sontag shortly after his death." In fact, Sontag lived a considerable time after this was snapped, through surgeries, and died later of gangrene. I could give several other examples. The book is not without merit, since there were interesting photos I hadn't seen before to accompany the story. For that reason, I give it two stars. But the text of this chapter doesn't reflect serious research, in my opinion.
