Summary: Renaissance Biography
Review: A wonderful biography about a true Renaissance man, like da Vinci who was born earlier. Their lives overlap, but they never met. Where da Vinci was a scientist, inventor and artist, Giovio pursued history, literature, geography, exploration, medicine and the arts. His main contributions were his histories and his portrait museum on Lake Como. Because of his contact with so many key people during his time, his biography is an insightful read about the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and the Counter-Reformation. You can tell how much I liked this book, I made it my nickname! (Sounds wayzkewl if you try to pronounce it...ok try it: pah oh loh - geee oh voh...there you got it!)
