Summary: Your loved ones are always with you.
Review: A wonderfully loving tribute to all mothers. Justin remembers his childhood vividly and fondly and relates to it as life lessons learnt from both his mother and fathers unique characters and their gardens, and then conciously apply these lessons to parenting his own children. What an honor to have a child celebrate such a relationship as mother/son even after death. This would make a wonderful mother's day gift.

Summary: A poignant journey into the garden of love.
Review: In My Garden Visits, author Justin Matott masterfully intertwines the magic of being a child with the experience of adulthood.

In his parent's garden, Justin learned to love and to laugh. In his own, many years later, he learned to listen. And listen he did as his mother's soft vioce transcended reality to whisper in his ear.

"My mother would often observe me from her kitchen window as she went about preparing one of her magnificent gourmet dinners. I remember that I would pretend not to notice that she was watching me and I would show off to entertain her."

This heartfelt journey takes the reader to a place deep in the soul where the garden is always blooming, and a mother's love is never far. To plant a garden is to believe in miracles...to read My Garden Visits is to experience them first hand.A beautiful book with exquisite drawings...I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Review: My Garden Visits is a book which should be read by anyone who has lost a loved one. After reading this book, I have since purchased this for many people who also have had similar experiences as this author. This is a book which will be around for a long time. Mr. Matott's use of reference to his hobby and his experiences give you goose bumps if you have had a similar experience.

Summary: Read it every year
Review: This book is a real treasure! It is one of my favorites that I have read several times. I could really relate to the author's story. While reading I found that we had similar experiences but for me it was with my father. It made me reflect on my memories with him. I am grateful the author shared his experiences...I love that each chapter begins with a watercolor illustration of a flower with both the botanical and common name and a brief description of this flower...The author is a great storyteller and his book is positive and full of good energy. I found his words comforting: "Love is Eternal"....

Review: This book is out of print, what a crime.

Summary: A visually and spiritually beautiful book.
Review: This book was not meant to be devoured in a single, can't-put-it-down reading marathon.Rather, each chapter should be meticulously tended to and savored, just as its authormeticulously tended his garden and savored each visit from the spiritual presence of his deceased mother. To make this book complete, the stunning watercolor illustrations by artist Victoria Kwasinski add the perfect visuals to Matott's descriptive prose.

My Garden Visits honors mothers everywhere and offers a reminder that those who are dear to us are often close in spirit, even when they are physically far away. This is truly a beautiful book.
