Rating: 5 stars
Summary: 1 of the best books on Nirvana+the Seattle Scene. Must read.
Review: Nirvana and the Seattle Sound is one of the most interesting books I've read about Nirvana and the Seattle music scene of the late 80s and early 90s. There is a lot of unrecorded information regarding Nirvana and thier early recording history, especially behind the scenes of the sessions prior to and including the Nevermind sessions. This book doesn't delve into Kurt's drug addiction, relationships, and eventual tragic death it stays focused clearly on the music from beginning to end and engrosses all the way through. The only book I've found on the Seattle scene that was more accurate and informative is LOSER. Check that out too.

Summary: good information, but outsider feel
Review: this is a pretty good book. it has lots of information about Nirvana. it tells how they got started and what they experienced along the way. but it is told from an outsider's perspective; it's a biography written by someone that never met kurt or the other members. this is a good book if you want to know more about the grunge/ alt scene or some of the facts about nirvana, but don't expect much behind-the-scenes information.
