Rating: Summary: Powerful Fact or Interesting Fiction?? Review: Having Watched the movie or read the book doesn't make someone an expert in the events of 20th May. Even as one of the victims of the "Protagonist" aka, Ms Dann, the reality is Killers don't show their true colors to everyone, despite what books or movies might portray. The only reasons the media give you this impression is so you feel safe at home "knowing" you don't know anyone capable of this... the fact is you can never know what the person next to you is capable of. If you want to know a bit more about the events then you could read this book- but remember, this is a book... and as such falable! Read with caution and remember, interpretation of events does not make for gospel truth!
Rating: Summary: devinar Review: I think that the movie was really good. However, I think it left out some important aspects as what lead up to the tragic end. I also think that her parents should be held accountable for her actions. Because they knew that she was ill and they ignored the obvious. On the other hand, her husband did try to help her but he did not do enough.
Rating: Summary: one of the best true crime books i've read Review: this is one of the saddest books i ever read.laurie dann was a very troubled mentally ill young woman who went on a shooting spree in a elementary school in 1988 in illinois, usa injuring many and killing one innocent child.this was a tradegy i feel that was very preventable.everybody who had contact with her knew she was deeply disturbed and possibly dangerous.she even stabbed her ex husband with a ice pick in his sleep but without enough evidence she could'nt be charged.the author does a great job on detailing the decline into insanity of this young somewhat attractive lady.for anyone who loves true crime,i highly recommend this book.
