Summary: HISTORY CAN BE FUNNY
Review: It is a pity that this book is out of stock. I do not know if there is an English edition, but someone should do it and fast. Only Montanelli with his sarcastic and ironic sense of humor can explain the History of Rome in such a delightful way. I read this book when I was 12 years old and is still one of my favourites. Even at University I read it very often. Montanelli was a great journalist and ,not like many others of his colleagues, was a good writer. The book is easy to comprehend because is written with simplicity, but this does not mean that is not accurated. It is .
it is also interesting because he writes about Romans like Caesar or Marius without the revence that many writers use.
If you like Lindsey Davies books, or are interested in Roman History this is definively your book
