Rating: Summary: Important history of WWII in the Pacific Review: I am interested in the history of WWII, not from the perspective of generals and politicians, but from the regular "Joes and Janes" who were called into the service of our country. In this book, the author shares his experiences as a medic in the Pacific War theater. The attention to detail, specifically about war-time medicine, was engaging and provides an important record of the sometimes primitive conditions encountered during conflict and the struggle of humans to help one another under the most adverse of conditions. Wonderful photos!
