Summary: From a Reader
Review: Journey from Hell is about Vinny Marino, a heroin addict at the age of thirteen. He overcame his heroin addiction through a series of visits to rehab. Then he started his own rehabilitation center called Habilitat. Some of his more interesting adventures included overdosing on a rooftop and then waking up the next morning with a DOA tag on his big toe. Another interesting adventure that Vinny has had was at the Daytop Rehab Center. Vinny and the rest of the center were having a group meeting. Vinny and another resident were battling verbally when Vinny became hostile and decided to just get up and leave Daytop. When Vinny left Daytop, he had forgotten that he was still on probation from a previous encounter with the law. A couple of months went by when Vinny got caught stealing cigarettes. Vinny went back to Daytop the next morning and was treated like a baby. The directors shaved his head and made him wear a diaper, and no one was aloud to talk to him.
The ideas in the book were put together well and were very interesting concepts. There was good voice, it could have been better, but for the most part the voice was good. The word choice was excellent, very well put in every chapter. The organization of the book was very well thought out.
I enjoyed reading the book, I don't think there is anything missing out of the book, it was very well put together and the detail was totally imaginable. I give the book 4 stars. I would recommend this book to an addict that wants to turn their life around and start clean.

The book details the struggles he faced to open the world's most successful rehabilitation center. Bravo to Vinny for his efforts to help people help themselves. He is gone but his Habilitat lives on! Great easy read!
