Summary: The best autobiography EVER
Review: This is an autobiography of a child who was treated equally in his family.
An autobiography of a child whose parents always praised for the good things rather than criticizing bad things.
It is an autobiography of a NOTHING who became SOMEONE whose life
is envied by billions today.

Autobiographies are always my first choices when I read and this was the best I ever read. In it you can flip through the pages of an extraordinary man who lived most of his life with one crazy
idea "Be willing to try anything Once". Believing in that he almost got killed a dozen of times, but after all it makes it really clear that only those who RISK-gain.
And the main reason why you should read this book is - not even from "1.000.000 jokes book" you can't find as much material to laugh out loud as in this one. It's extremely funny as much as it is serious. I only wish there will be a movie based on this book and life of this man.
Don't say you read books,if you didn't read this one.
Have fun

Summary: An Absolute Thriller About Power, Conquest and Lots of Fun
Review: Richard Branson is one of the most brilliant iconoclasts in the industrial age. It appears he will not have any difficulty converging his sheer tenacity and skill into the final chapters of globalization. Richard Branson is regulated by his own set of rules. Institutions were forced to recognize him as a serious contender. Even today, he uses incredible charisma and vision to strike in the United States and Australia. The CEO at Quantas ridiculed Richard Branson as a circus act. His critics should be more thoughtful as they are now seen as the laughing stock.

Throughout the next century, questions will be asked whether Richard Branson made the world a better and happier place. The answer is a resounding and unequivocable, YES. He has the will and the capacity to do whatever his heart desires. That ability is nerve-racking since he wipes out competitors, large and small, that have spent decades refining their products and services. These companies are led by people who are suppose to be the best trained pedigree in the world!

Let us not confuse skill and luck. Rather, let's compare Sir Richard to Genghis Khan. Along with their music, they 'danced the beat' about sex and power and didn't mind saying so. Still, it is both shocking and refreshing to read about Sir Richard's exploits growing up. How he languished as a child but created the will to challenge the world is stunning! He has an uncanny sense of timing and strategies for masterfully positioning himself.

Many times, Sir Richard was extremely reckless in pursuit of his dreams. In most situations, his unconventional wisdom prevailed but his male psyche was triggered by conquest and conquer, regardless of the cost. Oh please, he could be vicious so stop pretending. My simple advice, along with others who care for his success and health, is to kiss more babies, flatter your allies and increase the share of bounty. Govern by consent (you certainly have an incredible ability to select great managers that love you) and balance your impulses.

Whether he has the desire and the ambition to leave us his legacy will be forthcoming and, hopefully, explained in his second biography. I have watched Richard Branson through the years. In a wicked sense, I can understand why the Czars of Russia and other leaders got rid of their advisors. After a while, leaders become isolated. I know this because as a huge dreamer on a smaller scaler, it has become impossible to contact him to do business.

Summary: Biography of an extraordinary entrepreneur
Review: Richard Branson is founder and chairman of the Virgin Group, which is probably one of the world's most diversified companies. It has businesses ranging from music records and mobile phones through to balloon-flying and bridal services. This book is split up into 28 short chapters and a epilogue.

The book starts initially with Branson's failed around-the-world-ballooning attempt in Morocco in January 1997, before starting at his childhood. Richard Branson was born in the South of England in 1950, which is where he grew most of his childhood. "My childhood is something of a blur to me now, but there are several episodes that stand out. I remember that my parents continually set challenges for us." During his time at a big public secondary school started thinking up schemes to make money. These schemes ranged from growing Christmas trees and breeding budgies; most of them leading nowhere. Eventually, his schoolfriend Jonny and Richard wanted to set up an alternative magazine aimed at students. "The first issue of 'Student' was published in January 1968." This led to them setting up a music shop, leading to a record label, and eventually leading to one of the largest privately-owned companies in the world. Each of the different events is discussed in detail, while written in an novel-type style.

I normally do not read autobiographies, since I think most of them are "ego-trips". Not this one however, I was surprised how honest Richard Branson was about his not always successful private life and business ventures. Since this book was first published in 1998, the life of Richard Branson has not been standing still. Therefore, be prepared for Volume II of the Sir Richard Branson-story. And I must admit that I cannot wait.

Summary: Entertaining
Review: This is very entertaining reading. Sometimes it's really hard to believe that you are not reading fiction. It shows that being a little crazy and having some luck can take you to great places. Very inspiring as well.

Summary: Every budding entrepreneur should read this book!
Review: It's been a long time since I've read a book as refreshing, interesting, informative and brash as Losing My Virginity. It should be in the curriculum of every business school that has a center for entrepreneurship -- if only to prove that the "traditional" route to starting and running a business is not the only way.

While his methods may have been unorthodox at times, Branson more than makes up for it with tenacity, guile and just plain guts. His story is the classic David and Goliath tale. Now he's the humble Goliath.

What I most like about this book though is that Branson pulls no punches -- even when it comes to his own failings. He outlines his bad decisions (along with the good) sometimes in great detail, taking full credit for the debacle. But through it all he finds his way out of trouble by re-inventing himself and never, ever giving up. He's a Navy Seal, an Army Ranger and a Green Beret wrapped up in an Oxford pullover sweater. He is self-deprecating at times, if only to show us that -- all of the above notwithstanding -- he's just like us.

I am not sure if this book could ever be used as a primer on how to start a mega-conglomerate of businesses, but I do know one thing: I WANT TO BE RICHARD BRANSON!

Summary: Amazing! 1st class
Review: Losing my virginity by Richard Branson is one of the most amazing autobiographies ever. Speaks of his childhood, his first business, the student magazine, Virgin Music, etc. Amazing, just buy it!

Summary: Completely grabbing!
Review: Branson not only knows how to get by in business, but he knows how to grab on to a reader, and hold them till the end. The book makes you want to read it right from the first page. An excellent account of Branson's childhood, business life and adventures, all integrated superbly. Each chapter, varied in topic gives you a taste of what's to come and simply will not let you put the book down. Wheteher it's Richard's love life, his balooning adventures, or his friendly relationship with British Airways that interests you most, no part of the book will let you down. Excellent. (I'll never fly BA in my life!)

Summary: Very Interesting Book
Review: In this book, Richard Branson describes his childhood, adolescence, and his philosophy. It talks of how he started when he was 16 in the business world, as an independent magazine editor that had to use tricks to get advertisement for his publication, to a succesful businessman. It also tells how he has changed through the years, and how he has managed to have succesful ventures in different types of business, beating the established monopolies. Richard Branson keeps the reader interested until the end, and doesn`t bore you with useless facts and numbers. It`s worth the time & money spent on reading it. This book shows us that you don`t need to be a supergenious to be succesful. You just have to be interested, willing to sacriface and to risk yourself, and the owner of a great charisma.

Summary: Surely Not A Fun Read
Review: Just because someone is successful, does not make him a good writer. As intriguing as the title may be, this bio was just plain boring. The chronological format does not work as Branson just rambles and rambles. My gosh, he hardly talks about his wife at all and then out of the blue he interjects oh I married her. I forgot his wife's name out of shear boredom. Anyway, after reading 90 pages I returned this puppy to the library. Boooooring!
