Rating: Summary: Very informative:excellent info for beginner or veteran Review: David's Wall Street knowledge is very evident in the way he is able to explain in simple language the complexities of the market. Very good strategies are included for making money in stocks as a day trader.
Rating: Summary: My knowledge & understanding has grown exponentially. Review: I'll never trust a stock broker or market maker again. I've taken Davids course and stick to the solid blue chip companies and have averaged about $12,000 a month. Davids book is excellent, but strongly recommend his one week training if you want to do on-line trading.
Rating: Summary: excellent. Really hits nail on the head Review: Put electronic daytrading into perspective. I had the wrong idea of what it was all about.
Rating: Summary: Took an exciting subject and made it boring Review: A lot of good tidbits, but difficult for the new trader. At times the book explains itself and at others it assumes too much. It's quite obvious that it wasn't written to be interesting. It's like reading a dry manual.
Rating: Summary: informative and gives a good look at "real" daytrading Review: many of the reviewers that have posted here dont seem to understand that the book is not about online trading. daytrading IS the level II screen and everything that surrounds it. if you trade online, you're not necessarily daytrading -- and if you think that's what the book is about, dont post here. i give this book a 5 because it is easy to understand, the author is very enthusiastic, and much of the psychology in starting out is covered in an organized manner. this is the first book i have read on the stock market and daytrading, and i honestly feel confident about actually doing some investing now, or at least understand enough to learn more (if that makes sense).
Rating: Summary: NOT a book for people who trade online over Internet Review: This book is NOT for people who are trading online over the Internet. It does provide some insight to Level II trading and repeatedly states that anyone can gain access to Level II trading but we already know that if you have enough money you can do that. The book provides little information to give the trader a system or a direction for building a system to trade with. Buy this book ONLY if you are sure you can handle the expense and the pressure of Level II Nasdaq trading and want to do it from a Daytraders office.
Rating: Summary: Too difficult to understand! Review: Unless you've had background experience or education in this subject, this book is way over the average persons head. I am a beginner at day trading and I am just as confused if not more so than ever! Laura
Rating: Summary: Somewhat disappointing Review: As an individual looking for basic information on daytrading guidelines, this book fell short of my expectations. Although the author seems knowledgable in this subject, the information is difficult for a beginner to follow. The book seems to have been written more in the interest of capitalizing on this new "phenomenon" than in truly educating the reader.
Rating: Summary: NOT recommended for beginning day traders! Review: In my opinion, this book is one of several current titles in print that has made it to the marketplace for one and only one reason--to capitalize on and exploit a new fascination with day trading as a full-time career. I seriously can't believe that any successful day or short-term trader could find any real substance in this book. This book doesn't deserve the rave reviews some readers have given it. I returned this book within a day of purchasing it! I just didn't find any real value in understanding how Level II screens (among other impractical information) are structured. What day traders need is a sound money management (i.e., capital preservation) and extremely disciplined approach to trading the markets. In short, there are several better titles currently available that can provide this information. The infrastructure of day trading technologies and available online resources should be LAST on a day trader's list that wants to learn what it takes to be successful in the marketplace. This book was a real disappointment to me.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as some others Review: I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. It just didn't capture my imagination. If you really want to get started in electronic day trading then I would recommend Trading Online (FT Pitman 1998), which is well laid out, very well written, and to the point.
