Summary: A Good Read!
Review: Amir Hartman and John Sifonis present a series of principles and techniques to help you compete in the age of E-commerce. This levelheaded book is directed toward CEOs and top executives who are serious about conducting Internet business. The authors emphasize the four pillars of net readiness: leadership, governance, competencies and technology. They tell you how to strategize through deft administration, using the proper controls, knowledge and technical skills. The book presents examples of companies that have succeeded in E-business, as well as those that have failed. The lists, charts and questions will help you determine your own net-readiness. While the book emphasizes the need for speed, it avoids the quick, "single-fix approach" of other Internet books. We [...] recommend this solid manual to E-entrepreneurs.

Summary: Get 'Net Ready' or get left in the dust
Review: I found 'Net Ready' to be an exceptional read and am now keeping it on my desk in clear view as inspiration. The authors go well beyond sweeping generalizations made in other books. In this invaluable resource, specific criteria for success in the E-conomy are identified (the four pillars of Net Readiness) and tools are provided to help in getting started down the right path to being 'Net Ready' (mapping web initiatives to the e-business value matrix, use of the project prioritization matrix, and the Net Readiness Scorecard among others). This book is a literal road map for creating value in the E-conomy. If you are overwhelmed by the fast pace of change going on around you and are struggling with where to turn for help, I highly recommend you turn to 'Net Ready.'

Summary: Net Ready Evangelist!
Review: I found Net Ready to be extremely helpful in understanding the critical success factors in migrating to the Internet Economy. Working for a large Investment Bank, I am continually searching for better business processes to manage aggressive deadlines and sensitive client information. The book challenges the reader to look beyond technology as the answer to improve efficiencies and focus on identifying the organizational impediments to E-enabling your business, the authors have coined them their 4 pillars of Net Readiness: leadership, governance, competencies, and technology.

For a non-techie business manager, Net Ready is a great reference for how to migrate your business to the Internet Economy. The in-depth Cisco case study highlights the true business benefits that can be achieved across functional areas of a company. The author's have taken their extensive Internet consulting expertise and married that with real-life implementation experience at Cisco Systems to deliver the premier Internet business transformation reference guide!

Summary: THE eBusiness Manual
Review: READ THIS, however it may frighten you. For anyone even partially involved with the e-strategy of their organization, Net Ready is a must read. As an executive recruiter in the eBusiness arena, I recommend this book to almost everyone I talk to - clients and cadidates alike. In Net Ready, Amir Hartman and John Sifonis demonstrate clearly how the internet is a business tool, not a technology tool, a fact that continues to escape so many businesses today. The authors simultaneously show, however, that by applying "old school" business standards to eBusiness, one is most certain to fail. No doubt, this book can be scary to read with its brutally honest real world examples of eBusiness triumphs (and what it took to get there) as well as failures, but it also pelts us with much sought after advice ("implement ruthlessly") and helps a business leader to keep prespective. Net Ready is (finally!) a hands-on, real-life manual, rather than the theoretical look at effective strategies from 50,000 feet. In direct and no-nonsense style, Hartman and Sifonis provide a backdrop for what makes a business net ready and outline immediate action steps one can take in order to get there and be e-successful. -Kate Bullis, SeBA International

Summary: Things to think about
Review: Reads like a great road map for business. Cisco's philosophy comes through and makes us all wonder why our companies don't do the things that they do. It all makes perfect sense. Sifonis is wonderful and provides great insight to just another way to create a positive experience for the customer.

Good job, and I give you 5 stars

Summary: Success Depends in Understanding the New Economy
Review: The book offers a comprehensive review of business's critical aspects towards the net in the new economy. At the same time, the book provides hard core advice and guidance so that the reader can establish tangible goals for both the business, and customers. Goals that are to be exploited at a velocity and effectiveness that the new technology can provide. NetReady also emphasizes that we all are at a buyer's market; therefore, our success depends on our ability to implement the new business tools "in the way we do business, shop and live". Net Ready provides in detail the success story of Cisco, which by itself is outstanding.

Summary: getting e-it
Review: There are lots of books out there on business being conducted on the Internet. This book brings together a pretty straight forward story without the cloak of hype that comes with so many. If you are really going to do the "e-thing" then take this one to the bank.

Summary: The Honeymoon is over
Review: This book gives wonderful insight into Cisco. The title should have been, "Cisco is Wonderful - We Love Cisco". Basically, if you're interested in "E-business", remember that the key word is "business." You don't need this book to learn business principles (and please, don't expect to learn anything earth shattering).
