Summary: Highly Recommended!
Review: Authors and consultants Ravi Kalakota and Marcia Robinson emphasize that the mobility revolution is in its early stages and provide insights on its anticipated stages of development. This insightful and authoritative book is well written and well organized. We from getAbstract recommend it to executives, managers and information-technology specialists, though general readers with a jones for high tech also will be blown away.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Eye opener
Review: Before this book, I did not understand what all the hoopla on mobile commerce was about. I was getting lot of news on a daily basis on developments in the "m" space but it seemed like things were happening haphazardly. It was confusing. This book provided me with an unbelievable clarity. A must read.

Summary: mBusiness
Review: Good overview of mBusiness, but to much high level.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Overview of Mobile Area
Review: I am a newbiew to the whole mobile world. I was intimidated by all the technical jargon that was being thrown around. This book helped cut through the fog and provide a business perspective of "why businesses should care?" and "what apps make sense". I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Comprehensive Mobile Framework
Review: I have read a lot of 2K-5K reports from various consulting/analysts firms. This book has the same info for 17 dollars. This book provides a very comprehensive mobile framework for consultants, managers, planners and entrepreneurs who are interested in developing enteprise oriented applications. The book is also aimed at Fortune 1000 looking to leverage on their "e-business" and ERP investments. I also checked out the authors companion site: ... . They have some additional stuff that is worth reading.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Nice Executive Overview of Mobile Applications
Review: Prof. Kalakota's latest book , M-Business, is a very interesting reading. I particularly liked Chapter 9, the B2E environment
is where mobility can have a big impact. I wish the chapter was
longer with more in-depth coverage of business processes, how they can be streamlined and integrated with mobility. The scenerio of the Fortune 50 VP trying to get her child picked up is appropriate.

In Chapter 2, the authors made a comment that there are too many WLAN standards.Which is true at the radio frequnecy level. Out of which only the 802.11 is appearing as the winner as it is the oldfriend Ethernet. Right now 802.11b network equipments are selling like hot-cakes,I was told. IEEE is also making sure that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi work together.
Bluetooth has several limitations: limited number of radio devices, very short range. On the other hand it consumes one tenth the power. The advantages for Wi-Fi are: based on
Ethernet, longer range, unlimited number of devices.
Disadvantages are :security

Summary: Insight into Mobile Enterprise Applications
Review: The landscape of mobile enterprise applications is covered extremely well in this book. Unlike other books that talk primarily about consumer applications, the authors focus on leveraging existing investments in E-business and extending them into the mobile arena. Highly recommend this book if your company is beginning to think about Mobile Applications and next generation IT investments.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Nice Executive Overview of Mobile Applications
Review: This book presents an excellent executive overview of the mobile applications landscape. The strength of the book is the unique perspective of extending "E-business" investments to the "M-business" -- mobile/multichannel -- environment. It presents the business side of mobile - CRM, SCM, Mobile Office and Mobile portals - without getting mired in the alphabet soup of 3G, GPRS, UMTS etc.
