Rating: Summary: let the money work for you rather than you work for money Review: Thanks to Robert of his bold and far-sighted view. i'm currently a full-time lecturer in Malaysia who is always looking for another opportunity to increase and multiply my income. I've been in the Rat Race for about 10 years...now that i've found it. i'm going to share this book to all my students and i'm sure they don't know much of "people learn NOTHING from school. People work for money but they don't know how money work for them." if not for this book, most of us are still in the Rat Race.
Rating: Summary: Reads like an infomercial Review: The book does cover some good concepts on how to approach money, assets, and liabilities. However, the author does not deliver specific ways apply this knowledge to become rich. And there several instances in the book where he promotes his game (VERY expensive) and his other products. A decent read, but not very helpful.
Rating: Summary: Great Book for Generation X-ers! Review: I really enjoyed this book. Robert shows the distinction between his Rich Dad and Poor Dad strategies. I'm currently in graduate school and I wished I would have read this book before starting. I've read the Millionaire Next Door, Unlimited Power, Awaken the Giant Within and Women, Men and Money. This is what the rich really do think for those who lived on Grosse Ile, Michigan where I went to school. I'm an avid real estate investor and believe Robert's ideas will create new perspectives for people. I hope people in my generation X will get a chance to pick up this book as well as his Cashflow Quandrant. I've read all his books, I'm just waiting for his seminars to come to the Midwest. One may imagine learning even more ideas about what parents try to brainwash their children with! This book is an eye opener for computer people, loan officers, real estate investors and budding trainers! Anyone who's interested in becoming financially independent should read this book! I'm implementing a lot of his ideas in my life.
Rating: Summary: An excellent start for your path to financial independence Review: I bought this book after a long trawl through self development books. This had virtually all the advice I needed to get on the path to financial independence. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to escape the rat race then go to the Motley Fool website for practical information on getting your money to work for you.
Rating: Summary: GREAT ADVICE FOR AN IMMIGRANT WHO HAS WASTED 15 YEARS Review: I migrated to this country 15 years ago - I have made thousands and thousands of dollars - only being able to buy a house and still living from paycheck to paycheck - "Rich Dad - Poor Dad" is an eye-opener. I have already shared it with my daughter who is going into her second year in college; and I have shared it with my best freind and his son who is going into college in September. I have also just started to read the "Cashflow Quadrant". I find it very fascinating. I am now ready to move up from 401K mutual funds investments and to take the plunge into heavier investments.
Rating: Summary: Great book, easy reading and highly educational. Review: This book is worth the money. Very easy to read and educational. I will be buying more of this author's books to find out why the grass on the other side is greener than mine.
Rating: Summary: A definite read for the Middle Class Winers Review: The beuaty of this book is the plain simple English that it is written in. It tells us to understand the economics that we live in, and how we can shape it. It is a book that will change your thoughts on life, money, and the way you raise your family. I read this book, and felt saved. It is different from other financial books, because it tells you how to think. Then you go off, and get the product and tools.....
Rating: Summary: AFTER you have steady income to cover monthly bills. Review: 3 Stars only because of the story that contrasts Rich Dad and Poor Dad. But readers should know that Poor Dad is NOT a vagrant. This idea is mold-breaking to the average get-ahead person. You must create investments (stocks, businesses, etc.) to make money for you besides yourself. Multiply yourself. That's why double income families do better. This would be dangerous to high schoolers, without a warning. They might read this as, don't go to school. Remember Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard, you know what it takes to get there? This says, Life-Long study. School never ends, but pick what you like and learning is fun - tell that to your High schooler!
Rating: Summary: Making the authors richer. Review: A joke. Yet another book offering far more than it really delivers
Rating: Summary: I laughed, I cried. Where's the beef? Review: A new panacea, maybe not. Robert does bring some good thoughts out and does challenge one to think. I was a little disappointed to learn/not learn any specifics or true depth. He glosses over many things. Over all, I would recommend the book for the thought provocation ... not the sales pitch. After all, if he is RICH and RETIRED, why doesn't he teach us all for free ..... like "Dad" did for him?
