Summary: Stunning in the simplicity of its wisdom
Review: I have to laugh when I read some of the comments below about Robert Kiyosaki (skepticism about author's claims, incorrect acounting notions, etc.). This is one of the most eye-opening business books I've ever read. How I wish this type of methodology would have been taught to me when I was graduating from college and entering the business world. I'm just glad I read it before it's too late. It's incorrect I think to consider it simply as a career-path book. However, even if you become a teacher, doctor, or follow some other path that is your passion, it's still wise to develop "financial intelligence". And as far as "incorrect accounting notions", I studied accounting, and accounting has been a central part of my career to date. Robert's assertions can be perceived as simplified, but they are right-on for today's economic climate in my opinion. This book should be a permanent addition to your bookshelf, no matter what your career calling is.

Summary: Very skeptical of this author
Review: A lot of rah-rah, not a lot of substance.

I give it 2 stars only because I think it may have some motivational value. In terms of practical advice its value is minimal.

You should also be aware that there is a lot of skepticism about this author and the claims he makes. Do some investigation and you'll likely be unsettled.

Summary: Good but not great
Review: The authors repeat few ideas over and over and over throughout the book; I can even remember seeing a single sentence repeat the same thing twice. Many stylistic, grammar, and, even, some spelling errors caught my eyes. The financial and accounting notions presented and the illustrations are extremely unorthodox and, sometimes, not absolutely correct. However, I enjoyed reading it and would recommend this book to teens (and adults acting like teens) for the few very good concepts it teaches.

Summary: Buyer Beware!
Review: Not sure about RD/PD, but one thing's for sure -- The author is laughing all the way to the bank!

Summary: Money Saving Tip
Review: Read "Rich Dad's Guide to Investing" and forget about Kiyosaki's other books - the third book in the series captures all the ideas this man has. If you must, browse through the other books in the bookstore - you will realize that the information is repeated, and that you can save a lot of money by not buying his other books.

Summary: Good Read for beginners
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. This book is just the beginning of the hree book series. reading this book helped ne to change my thinking about money and "the rich." TO gain a full understanding of Robert's and Sharon's comments i highly recommed reading the other two books in the "rich dad poor dad series", which are, CASHFLOW QUANDRANT & GUIDE TO INVESTING, LOVE THE BOOK !!

Summary: Perspectives on financial planning
Review: I think the author makes his point in a crisp and easy-to-understand manner. Everyone at some point in time have questioned the "value" of our education system, albeit it may be in our own minds. The correlation between education and monetary rewards is sketchy at best. Here is a book which presents two perspectives regarding 'learning' and 'earning'. Its simplistic style makes it an easy read. The author's choice of using a story instead of using a more pedantic approach regarding financial planning enabled me relate with the content better.

Summary: Happy Fathers Day Rich Dad!
Review: As the saying goes, Father knows best and in Rich Dad Poor Dad, bestselling author Robert Kiyosaki provides powerful and pragmatic money management strategies passed on to him by his Rich Dad.

RDPD is the book that started it all and still a best seller. Justifiably so because the advice really works.

I also recommend the other books in the Rich Dad advisor series to meet your personal needs.

Regardless of whether you are interested in learning more about real estate investing, buying or selling a business, creating a second income or a new career or just general financial issues, you will find the advice you are looking for in RDPD and in the Rich Dad's Advisors Series.

Happy Fathers Day Rich Dad and thanks for sharing.

Summary: Look past the books weaknesses and focus on the message
Review: When I first picked up this book I was impressed at the easy storytelling style. I hadn't had this feeling since I read the "Richest Man In Babylon".

This book is spiritually and psychologically transforming. Mr.Kiyosaki lays out how wealthy people think and why its easy for them to make money constantly and consistently, where even the most educated of us struggle needlessly.

This book is transformative in the easy way it makes you come around to its way of thinking. Because of this book I ended up writing three books of my own, all of them available on amazon.com

With all of the books shortcomings you can tell that Kiyosaki is interested in one thing and one thing only, your well being. He is sincere about his four pillars of success and in that sincerity you want to change.

This is a powerful book and sits in my top ten lists of motivatioinal books.

Summary: Financial Literacy, What a concept!
Review: Robert Kiyosaki writes that Financial Literacy is the key to making and keeping wealth. In school we are taught about IQ. Kiyosaki introduces the concept of Financial IQ. Starting with basic concepts and principles such as, "The rich don't work for money" and "Your home is not an asset", Kiyosaki destroys many cultural myths that circulate around the wealthy individuals of today.

I have personally given away more copies of this book than any other I have bought or read. I would highly recommend this book and all the Rich Dad series books for anyone wanting to take hold of their finances and learn what true wealth and financial freedom really mean.
