Summary: The most successful financial book of all time!
Review: Rich Dad Poor Dad has become the single most successful-best selling financial book ever---and for good reason; the advice works. It tells people not what they want to hear, but they need to hear.I also recommend Rich Dad's Guide to Investing which offers better investing strategies than just blindly buying mutual funds or listening to your broker without rhyme or reason.I wish you continued success!

Summary: A Good Place to Start
Review: I've read RDPD twice despite John Reed's ripping of RTK. The book is insightful and mostly focuses on how you think of money and finances. As a result of reading this book, I've adopted the "pay your self first" habit that many other financial books have often advocated; I've heard it before but never had the inclination to do it.The only thing that I found somewhat annoying and irritating is that RTK conveys the idea of "the rich" as a group of people who are apart from the rest of us mortals; like a special group that only a select few can get into; a "Those People" or "Them" mentality. This first book lays down the foundation of Rich Dad philosophy. The next books breaks down all the concepts and ideas mentioned in this first one.

Summary: Great book and an excellent gift
Review: A good friend, and a person I have a lot of respect for, gave me this book. I have to admit to being surprised because I initially thought this to be a typical "get rich" book. Based on his recomendations I read the book. I spent a few hours and read through the book in one sitting, it's an easy read. It really has influenced my thinking about many things in my life. There is more being said in this book about methodology than practical advice, and that's a good thing. I have made some serious changes in the way I run my business and personal life. This is a book everyone should read through and see for themselves if they can apply any of the wisdom contained.

Summary: thin on substance
Review: This book was the number one top-selling book in New Zealand for a few years running. Some of my friends read it & they were convinced that they were in the rat-race & thus, they made some changes which might change their lives for the better (or worse). That is the main reason why I got myself the book to read & see what kind of impacts it would make on me. Much of what the book said was common sense anyway or that we were told of the same things by our parents & the parents before them. That proved to me that not many of us took heed of our parents' advice or that we were severely lacking of common sense. Just to give you a few examples, in order to create our wealth, we should maximising the income bracket & minimising the cost bracket. Please?! Then, it's about us not falling victims to credit cards, & other so-called interest free items. Anyway, whoever that is strong with their financial managing would find this book lacking of substance that would make a real difference. The author used his life example to portray to us how easy it is for him & his rich dad to utilise money to make money. Sometimes, how I wish that the author would go straight to the point rather than beating around the bush. Anyway, after finishing this book, I continued reading the sequel: rich kid, poor kid, & trust me, you wouldn't miss much. All I can say is that I really got to give the author the credit for having the ingenuity & the courage for bringing out the obvious & thus, rewarded financially from this. The best thing in life is that if you are not happy & not content, do something about it. Doing something is better than not doing anything, or blaming other people's from your own misfortunes or whinging about what if's. Seize the moment, if you still haven't got my hint. Try on other more constructive & informative investment books. I'm sure that there are better ones out there!

Review: This book has inspired me to change my way of thinking! It teaches how to make money work for you instead of working for money. I reccomend this book to anyone who wants to get out of the "rat race", get on the fast track and really begin living!

Summary: Awesome Book!
Review: This book absolutely changed my paradigm of money and life in general. I am a full time student in college. Before I picked up this book, I was struggling to figure out what I want to do in life. After reading "Rich Dad Poor Dad", I found what I was missing all along. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get ahead in life. This book teaches the basic fundamentals that every person needs to know to succeed.

Summary: A total waste of time reading this book
Review: I am a legal newcomer to the land of opportunities (arrived with my bag of money). I read most of these bestsellers. I pity people spending time reading a totally non-practical and non-functional book like this and recommending it to others!! I could not believe myself when I got done with it. I never throw a book in the trash; well, I did with this one (I did not want to waste my kids' time in the future). I thought it would be of the caliber of "The Millionaire Next Door" but certainly not even close. In conclusion, I think it is the worst book I have ever read. I am upset for wasting my time with it. So far I have bought more than a dozen of "The Millionaire Next Door" and distributed them on every one I care for. I think I will do the same with this one but I will throw them all away to save human kind from wasting their times!! Time is of the essence.

Summary: Need to know
Review: I think that Kiyosaki did something very generous by sharing the information that got him where he is, instead of keeping it a secret. I really enjoy the whole idea that you can either be a lemming or you can think and find treasures wright under your nose. I think this is a great book and inspires me to acheive anything i want because I can, i just have to think, something that many people do not do. There are more ways of doing things than society lays out for you.

Summary: On the right track
Review: I thought the way Kiyosaki laid out his plan for financial sucsess was interesting, telling of his own personal experiences and his "rich and poor dad." Kiyosaki's notion that not everyone is doomed to be a participant in the "rat race" was motivating and showed that you don't have to have a thousand degrees to become financialy successful. I thought that his emphasis on the importance of financial eduation was a good one, showing that although there are many highly educated people, their financial skills are poor. I think one of the things that was most stressed was the difference between a liablity that many think to be an asset. Also, Kiyosaki stressed that it takes a long period of time to make money. For example, stocks are a long term investment that will make money over time. I also liked the idea of getting money to work for you instead of you being a slave to money. However, I did find the book to be repetitive and stating nothing more than common sense. I also found that Kiyosaki was sometimes critical of the middle calsses painting them to be robots unable to think for themselves. However, Kiyosaki's want for the middle class to better themselves is a start on the right track.

Summary: Rich Dad Poor Dad
Review: I think that this book was all around informative. Most of the examples that the author used to support his concepts about money were common sense. However, certain people may not have been fully aware till they actually read this book. I agree with the point he efficiently made across: "you shouldn't work for money" but you should have "money work for you."
