Summary: A non math intensive introduction to Micro
Review: This book is a good introduction to Microeconomics for the math challenged/adverse. The book covers all the material relevant for an introduction to Micro on a conceptual level, with plenty of examples. However, almost all the non trivial math is banished to the appendices. Depending on your point of view the lack of derivations or formulas could be either a good or a bad thing.

Summary: Not Readable
Review: Virtually everywhere in this book, the author brags about how readable the book is. For one thing, after half a semester of ECON 211 Principles of Microeconomics at Rice, this book has not been helpful at all.

Graphs are placed on a page and the author spends two pages explaining the graph. The theory behind all of the paragraphs was designed to baffle instead of to enlighten. While some real-life case studies (Dell's organizational methods) are interesting reads, what the book needs to do more is to talk about applying theories to strategies in real life.

It may be true that I am taking a Principles of Microeconomics course, but in a course where I am expected to understand how to apply theories to problems in the real-world, this book is a long way from being readable or being helpful in a course in micro.
