Rating: 1 stars
Summary: nothing concrete - somewhat rambles & repetitive
Review: great title but the caliber of the book is below many others describing realistic trading techniques, try others first (Murphy,Pring,Elder,Brown), they provide much more useful information you can actually adapt

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Superb Work
Review: Having purchased many 'how to trade' books over the years, and experiencing only indifferent success at daytrading, I was intrigued by the title--'High Probability Trading' was exactly what I neeeded to master. This book delivers the goods. Mr. Link has provided a concise, clearly written, no-nonsense set of guidelines which should help anyone to become a better trader. In particular, he addresses the all-important issue of money and risk management, a topic often ignored in other works, and does so in his usual methodical, easy-to-understand style.

This book is without doubt the best of its kind I've read, and if you are serious about daytrading I recommend it to you in the strongest terms.

Summary: message from a real trader
Review: I will give the readers of this message who are interested in trading the best advice you will ever get because it comes from a guy who really makes money trading futures from his own PC.

I have 5 years experience in the markets

1..Anyone who tries to sell you trading advice is ripping you off. Bar none. Going public with a system immediately ruins that system, so quit making trading authors, seminar speakers etc.. rich

2. Indicators do not work, none do.

3. If you want to trade then you are on your own. You must teach yourself. You do this by subscribing to tradestation software and by studying price action, talk with other traders on their forums, but beware that many of the traders there don't yet make real money trading, they do help with the basics though.

4. remember that when you make a dollar trading, another trader must lose a dollar. Trading is all about taking money away from other experienced traders and it aint easy. Some of the most brilliant minds and companies spend millions studying the markets and you are pitting you mind agianst theirs.

After years of studying sometimes 10 hours day i finally can say that I make about 30 to 50% and I am soooo proud to have finally gotten here.

only a few make it, more would if they would realize that nothing comes easy and that anyone who publishes any system is ripping you off, you must learn, sadly enough, on your own.

Summary: Not High Probabilty more like basic trading
Review: I would re-title this book to read, "Basic Trading Concepts". The book is nicely put together and does provide a good deal of information but the title is totally misleading in my opinion. Most of the material provided is general trading knowledge and not specific "high probability trading" methods. I was expecting actual techniques and specific entry and exit systems. If you're new to trading, this book will give you the basics. If you have been trading awhile, this book is mostly milk and no meat.

Summary: One word...Excellent!!
Review: I've read over 30 books on trading and this book ranks at the top with Dr. Elder's "Trading for a Living". I learned so much from it that I'm reading it for the second time so that I can commit the priciples to memory. It's not for the beginner, but if you've been trading for at least 1 year the book's knowledge will definitely hit home. It's written in a very easy-to-read style which makes it more enjoyable to read, especially for a topic that can be so dry and technical.

Summary: This book ties everything together
Review: I've read some of the reviews (or should I say criticisms) of this book. They write that it's for beginners, there are just a couple of setups, and the obligatory discipline "cut your losses" warning chapter. I think people are missing the big picture.

If you want a detailed book about technical analysis, with lots of explanations, setups, etc. etc., there's "Technical Analysis Explained" by Martin J. Pring, or you can buy something by Jack Schwager or John Murphy.

If you want a book about building and testing a trading system, there's "Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom" by Van K. Tharp.

If you want a self-help book about discipline / psychology, there are a lot of those, some in the investment section, some in the psychology section.

If you want a book about day-trading, there are a ton of those as well.

The thing I like about this book is that everything is there in one place. At the end of each chapter, the author gives you pointers on what to do and what to avoid doing to reinforce your memory of the principles. The book is written in a very readable style. I got this book about three weeks ago, and by applying some of the principles I learned from the book, I made two profitable trades (which I would not have normally made) and avoided making a trade which I normally would have made. This trade would have been a loser. As a result of reading this book, I made and saved enough money in the last three weeks to buy ten copies of this book. Isn't that why we read these books???

Summary: Good Basic Guide Book
Review: Initially, I was dismayed about the book after a few chapters. It appeared that it was another trend trading book with all kinds of charting techniques but no guidance. Fortunately, I found plenty of guidance AND wisdom in the book and I am happy.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Can't ignore this book
Review: It does look very helpful to the starters and novice. The topics covered are realistic and 'honest'.

Traders, please don't ignore this book.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: Like some other reviewers, I have read 100 other trading books. This one really pulls it together for me. It is not so much of a textbook as it is like having a personal trainer looking over your shoulder. Link has been in the trenches! It shows you not so much what to do as how to do it. The process, the thinking. This is the first book about which I have been motivated enough to write a review. I loved it.
