Rating: Summary: Casting Simplified! Review: McCreight has written another one of his easy-to-read books for readers and would-be practitioners of the metal smith's or jeweler's art.The book is well written. Once again the spiral bound format makes it easy to use in the shop. This book is reasonably priced for the amount of information it provides. McCreight can never be blamed for trying to "gouge" the public with his prices. Interested in casting? This book is a great place to start!

Rating: Summary: Excellent for begginners in jewelrymaking Review: The book covers all aspects of casting. I personally enjoyed the drawings, you can follow them along with the text and start making your wax models. If you have read McCreight's book "Complete Metalsmith" you probably tought the book had too information in a page, well in this book you can actually enjoy reading it since it explains in detail the processes withouth craming too much information in just one page. It is an affortable book with excellent technical instructions about the different methods of model making and casting.
Rating: Summary: Another McCreight Gem Review: Tim McCreight's books are always excellent, and PRACTICAL CASTING is yet another gem. I especially appreciate it's easy to follow format and the author's generous "make-it-yourself" directions for tools and gadgets that can be easily put together by the jewelry crafter. These tips really come in handy and save having to buy yet another expensive doodad to complete a process.
