Rating: Summary: FINE DESCRIPTIVE DEFINITIONS Review: Despite its small size, this well-structured dictionary did not stop at defining terms. It gave comprehensive descriptions (and explanations) whenever necessary. Its scope embraced all aspects of business: finance, management, commerce, accounting, and so on. It is very portable and easy-to-use. Its 7,500 headwords included most terms which users are likely to encounter more often. All the important biz acronyms and jargons were included. This is one dictionary that I will recommend for both students and business travellers. It is a reliable companion.
Rating: Summary: Excellent reference for non native speakers Review: I'm a professor at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, where we are encouraging Accounting students to read books and articles and hearing financial news in English.I found this Dictionary both practical and detailed in its contents; a great source for both the student and the financial executive.
Rating: Summary: How am I going to figure out what "solutions" means? Review: I'm working on a satirical business dictionary (some samples are posted on my website). Consequently, I read this book cover-to-cover looking for fodder.
As I do have real business experience, I can say with some authority that this book is pretty thorough. It might be a tad heavy on the accounting lingo; but, unfortunately, that seems to be the way business is heading.
Hopefully Barron's next edition will include some of the new jargon we're hearing - like the ubiquitous "solutions," as well as "Enron," "Martha Stewart," and the surprisingly absent, "restarting earnings." Thankfully, "proactive" is included.
Why not five stars? Well, it is a dictionary of business terms.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't Add Very Much Review: Its very useful, but then, if you have the other Barron's dictionaries, it does not add a whole lot of extra heft to your business vocabulary. Would be nice to see a little more diversity in the definitions.
Rating: Summary: usefull Review: teh dictionary is fantastic, really usefull, and really aplied to the busines concepts. congratulations
Rating: Summary: Excellent Reference Resource Review: The "Dictionary of Business Terms" is an excellent reference for business people, educators, and students, alike. While it is relatively small, it provides concise, easy to understand definitions for some 7000 business terms. Best of all, it can fit quite easily in your pocket. If you are in any way involved in business, this is a must have reference. I would say more, but, hey, it's not like a dictionary has a plot you can comment on.

Rating: Summary: Doesn't Add Very Much Review: This book is a great help to anyone needing clear and concise definitions of business terms. The clarity of the writing is especially notable. As a bonus, the font and size of the type as well as the overall size of the book are perfect. It is a good companion for business reading and an excellent addition to any business library.
