Summary: Don't Listen To Those Sales People Who Reviewed This Book
Review: Brokers, Life, Auto Insurance Sales People, Loan Officers at your Bank and Financial Planners and Advisors will pray that you don't read this book. Forgood reason: these strategies reduce their commissions. Those of us who read and applied the principles in 'More Wealth Without Risk"have experienced the tremendous savingsthat the strategies produce. We have also seen the resentment from the establishment. My auto insurance agent wasn't tickled pink when I indicated that I found a great way to reduce mypremiums by 60%! My life insurance agentdidn't share in my joy when I bought a$100,000 term policy for the same price as my $15,000 whole life. And my Financial Planner wasn't very happy whenI told him that I found no-load mutualsthat produced better returns than his loaded suggestions.Same thing happens when you take out a loan and decline credit life or buy any appliance or item and decline extended warranty. Ditto for charge guard on your credit cards and mortgage life on your morgage. My bank loan officer wasn't too excited when I requested a amortization statement to replace my "payment book"and indicated that I would be making extra principal payments.Thank you Mr Givens for sharing these incredible money strategies.

Summary: A book that can turn your financial life around
Review: I am continually amused and amazed at some of the newer books that are coming out and people scoop up their information making it appear as though what they are saying is something new.

For example, I keep hearing the accolades going towards a certain author who is pushing the "10% solution" aka "save the first 10% of what you make."

Charles Givens beat that concept to death back in the 80's and 90's in his books, workshops and even on his informercials. In More Wealth Without Risk, Givens devotes a whole chapter to it.

It seems the more things appear to be new, the more it is just the old recycled.

That said, I wholeheartily agree and endorse the 10% solution no matter who is recommending it.

In More Wealth Without Risk, you will also find a complete encyclopedia of information on how to create wealth and from a entrepreneurs perspective. No doubt, what made Givens controversial was the fact that he was a businessman attempting to convince others to do the same. Thus much of his book talks about the virtues of starting your own business, investing in real estate etc. Givens convinced me of the value of becoming a entrepneneur myself.

There is much information on how to reduce taxes, how to invest profitably in mutuals, a chapter on using a margin account and a chapter each on tax liens and discounted mortgages.

Givens also explains the right way to buy life insurance as well as information on how to reduce "ripoff insurances" like credit life, maintenance contracts, extended warranty. You will also find certain types of auto insurances that you do not need.

Overal, More Wealth without Risk is a great book. Some of the information, such as certain taxes information needs to be updated but the meat is there and cert aintly you will find more useful information in More Wealth Without Risk than say in JBQ's Making The Most of Your Money, a outdated and very ineffective financial tome.

I also recommend Givens other books Financial Self Defense and Super Self.

For more information on tax liens and discounted mortgages check out The 16% Solution and Robert Allens excellent book Multiple Streams of Income.

For more on the philosophy of what Givens teaches in More Wealth Without Risk, I recommend The Millionaire Next Door and Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Charles Givens bought a $90,000 Excalibur for $20,000 so I am sure, he would agree with Stanley and Danko on buying things except he would be more aggressive in pursuing income via business and real estate investing, in my opinion.

More Wealth Without Risk launched many millionaires. The principles work.

Summary: We started to save immediately.
Review: I learned more from reading More Wealth without Risk in one evening than I had from several semesters of college finance classes including the training I recieved in preparing for my insurance and security licenses. I have also read the other books on the market on personal finance. None even come close with practicial advice and rapid results. This is the BEST! For a while, I worked for a well known nationwide company selling insurance, securities and other fiancial products. The company I worked for taught us to push single premium life insurance, (w) HOLE Life and loaded mutual funds. All of which return big commissions to the broker, but little rewards to the consumer. In my opinion, they are virtually worthless. After reading More Wealth without Risk, I cleaned out my own financial closet. I raised the deductible and dropped duplicate coverage on our auto insurance, requested replacement insurance on our homeowners policy and began to implement tax strategies that even my tax accountant was not aware of. I also stopped the autmatic withdrawal from our bank to buy shares of 100% loaded mutual funds and set up a new accout with a no-load fund. In one day, I had saved my family over $200/month. I have since read the book cover to coverseveral times. The information is all so very simple. and so basic. I really feel that these strategies are not being taught in every high school and college in America. Armed with my new knowledge, I could not in good conscience, recommend to my clients the limited and in many cases, worthless options offered by my company. So I decided not to renew my licenses. One of the biggest rewards for me is to achieve my lifelong dream of owning my own business. This from the money that I have saved and the strategies that I have learned from More Wealth without Risk.

Summary: If you have money or bills, you need to read this book!
Review: In 1991 I was 24 years old. I attended a Givens Seminar and a week later had scrapped together $1000 (yes, 3 zeros) to join his Organization. $800 of which I saved after the 3rd day by following his advice and changing my auto insurance without losing ANY coverage!! Although I am no longer a member of his organization, the strategies in this book changed my life for ever! In 1991, the extent of my financial savy was a savings account paying 5% and I thought the stock market was definately not for me, but for the "rich people". I read the book, followed the plans and verified anything that sounded too good to be true with IRS publications (again, his advice). Now, a family man at the ripe old age of 32, I have 4 mutual funds, 8 stocks, a SEP-IRA and a 401K account. I thumb my nose at 15% returns, own 2 home based business and am so well positioned for retirement that I shocked my family & friends who thought I was going to end up in jail if I followed his plans. I've read a lot of similiar books and heard the same advice from many sources. I can tell you that this book works, and it works for everyone. I especially consider it to be "must read" material for people in their teens and early 20's who need to start off on the right foot.

As far as his Organization went... after I used the resources to build my financial foundation, I felt as if other plans they "encouraged" me to buy were just gimmicks for getting more membership dues out of me. What a shame, it was a good thing gone bad.

I don't know where you are now Chuck, but thanks for being there when my family needed you!

Thanks for reading my review. Live long and prosper......

Summary: Saved big with Givens money strategies
Review: Over the last four years, while many people lost money following conventional advice, I made money following Givens advice. Using the Money Movement Strategy, I was out of aggressive stocks and into money market funds and then zero coupon bond funds and also value funds. In 2003, I went back into tech and aggressive stock funds.I have been following this strategy since 1988 when I bought Givens original book Wealth Without Risk and have big profits even since. The first time I used the Money Movement Strategy was back in 1989, moving out of stocks into zero coupons. I did it again in 1995 and third time was the charm in 2000. It works everytime. When you are armed with knowledge, not opinions, powerful investing is easy, fun and predictable.I know people who missed out on the crash by moving into money market funds and staying there for the duration of the last bear market. I prefer to make money to the tune of 20% yearly returns as opposed to 2% money market returns and have been able to do that with the Givens Strategies.

Summary: Money Movement Strategy
Review: Since reading this book, my husband and I have used many of Givens' ideas to make, save, or protect our wealth -- without risk. We have been investing for years but the Money Movement Strategy is a great system for people like us that don't want to watch every single market/stock move. Even though this book ends with 1994 statistics, I researched how the prime rate has risen and fallen since this book was published and how this strategy would have worked until today. When interest rates hit 9% in 3/00, the strategy would have had you move your money to money markets. You would have gotten out and missed most of the decline that has followed!

Furthermore, my husband and I have saved thousands already this year by increasing deductibles on our health and car insurance since we are healthy and have newer cars. My husband increased his exemptions on his W-4 (wasn't claiming any) giving him extra 20% biweekly in his paycheck. We are putting that directly into savings or an IRA.

This is the best financial book ever! I have given copies to my friends because there is something in it for everyone, no matter what income level, age, or whether you work for yourself or an employer. Get this book -- it will pay for itself many times over.

Summary: Saved big with the tax strategies
Review: There is no price great enough to pay for what Givens Strategies has done for me personally and my family. It is more than about money or creating wealth, the strategies brought our family closer together in addition to breaking free from financial bondage.

The personal finance strategies allowed us to reduce substantially what we were paying on various insurances. W-4 strategy gave us next years refund this year (when we most needed it) and by use of the Givens debt shifting strategy, we were able to rid ourselves of higher interest debt credit cards and move the debt onto lower interest cards. Making the same payment, we payed off our cards in half the time it would have taken otherwise and it didn't cost us anymore.

Following Mr. Givens advice in More Wealth Without Risk, we started a home based business which is a family business and that opened the doors to additional income that we badly needed as well as tax benefits we never knew were available to small home based businesses. We hired our children as Givens advises and opened up an IRA giving us the double tax benefits that Mr. Givens explains in the book.

Investing always scared me. Fortunately, following the Givens Money Movement Strategy we were out of stock funds before the big bear market started. We use this strategy in all of our accounts; personal, business, retirement and our childrens. It works.

We know people personally who have lost a bundle following the advice of other so called experts and finacial advisors.

As an aside, we noticed that despite the mutual fund scandal that is going on right now, none of the companies that Mr. Givens recommends have been involved. Could mean nothing or it could mean that the man knew a thing or two.

Our family has both individual and family dreams and goals. This has brought us even closer together. Our youngest, Brian who is only 12 is already explaining the rule of 72 to his friends parents and while his friends are looking at the comics, Brian is reviewing real estate and business ads in the classifieds. He has his eye on 3/2 condo. Can you imagine a 12 year old already owning real estate!

More Wealth Without Risk has provided us with unlimited value. While the financial rewards have been great, the unity that this family now has and the excitement of having parents and children working together, well, there is no price that you can pay for that. Like I said, unlimited value.

Givens strategies work. Use them and prosper with them. Good luck and Godspeed.
