Summary: Easy to Use Effective Networking Techniques
Review: After exploring many networking sources, Power Networking was the book I used to premise a training I created for my company which was a complete hit! This book is a must read if you want to be successful in your business and personal life without coming across like a sales person. The concepts and techniques presented in this book coupled with the "practical" actions and activities after each chapter allowed the associates in our company to put their new skills into effect immediately and start seeing results. If you don't like the "selling" part of your job, yet want to develop referrals and contacts this is the book for you! If you want and need things in your personal life but just not sure how to access this, this is also the book for you. After reading this book I was not only able to create a dynamite training program for our company, but more importantly on a personal level, I was able to use some networking skills honed in this book to help the orphange my daughter came from and bring some relief to to many adoptive parents.

Summary: Network to your next career
Review: As a Career Coach and Professional Resume Writer, I've recommended Donna and Sandy's first Power Networking book to my clients. It has many great tips that can be applied not just in professional organizations, but in your career transition as well.

The book outlines basic principles of networking, and if your making a career transition or trying to recharge your career, learning how to network effectively is ESSENTIAL.

This book makes learning to network effectively fun. It's clearly written with great examples througout. Enjoy using this book as a tool to take you to the next step!

Summary: What the are those reviews talking abt? ( bk for simpletons)
Review: I bought this book eight years ago when I started my business and it remains one of the best resources I have. The updated version is even better, including the new era of technology. What I loved most about this book is the focus on building relationships and dropping the "Lone Ranger Mentality." The book stresses that networking is a way to help others, develop relationships and build our own businesses. But it does stress giving before asking. The concept is the more we give, the more we will get. I have found this to be true. I am thankful I found this book when I did, it has made a big difference in my career.

Summary: Simple, Practical, Useful
Review: I found the self assessment very useful in helping me identify how I could quickly improve my networking skills. After taking the assessment I was able to go straight to the chapters that would help me. After reading the chapters that were most critical to my needs, I went back to read the whole book and gained a great overall perspective of how to develop a strong networking approach.

Summary: Semi-useful, but nothing new
Review: If you've read at least one networking book, you most likely will find little, if anything, useful from this one. I must admit there are some helpful hints such as: 1) Avoid the Lone Ranger mentality, 2) Give without expecting anything in return, 3) Gain value from every contact, 4) Become an active and perceptive listener, & 5) The 3 Foot Rule.

These(like most of the 59 "secrets") present a somewhat hackneyed approach to networking. Although worth a look-see, I would recommend a check out from the library for this title, rather than wasting your mula.

Summary: A must if you're in the people business!
Review: Networking has been given such a bad name by those who use it in the most inappropriate ways! Donna Fisher's book "Power Networking" elevates the idea of networking back to the lofty place where it belongs! Donna's idea of building a network of friends, acquaintances and business associates by first being of service to others is a lesson we could all learn! Talk about dynamite stuff that is "real world" effective ... this book has it! If you want to improve the quality of your life, both professionally and personally, then this book is packed with many, many ideas that will enrich your every day! Thank you Donna Fisher for an awesome and dynamic approach to a much abused skill. You bring honor to the techniques of networking!

Summary: If you run a business- you need this book
Review: Power Networking is a book every professional should have in their library. It teaches you how to expand your network, and about giving first- and then you get. Lots of great resources and strategies- even for the beginner. I recommend this book highly. Rick Frishman Pres. Summary: Excellent book for developing and maintaining a network
Review: The aptly titled "Power Networking" provides in-depth and practical ideas for creating and maintaining a network of personal and professional contacts. As a Personal and Executive Coach, many of my clients are looking to increase their businesses, and this book walks you through steps to do just this. One of the most gratifying things about this book is that the authors focus not only on how Power Networking can benefit you the reader, but how it can also benefit the people in your network and the world at large. In short, this book can help the most shy conversation-avoiders to the most outgoing network-seekers.
