Review: The book is an excellent place to start if you are planning on opening a retail store. I think it's important to be aware and familiar with all aspects of retailing. Just as the back cover of the book says, it is "the perfect learning tool for opening a new store or renovating one". This book takes you through such steps such as negotiating a retail lease, working with designers, store layout options, ceilings, lighting, signs, walls, construction and remodeling, etc... The author also gives you estimates of what you might expect to spend, what you can expect from a design firm, and contract samples. There are also different types of floor plans and designs shown in the book.
