Summary: One of the best basic FSA books
Review: "Financial Statement Analysis" is one of the very best basic textbooks in its field. It guides the readers through both teoretical (academic) and practical sides of financial statement analysis. The text is clear cut and rather easily read, but heavier discussions of important topics are found in the appendices. The only real disadvantage of this book is its age. Especially in the data analysis part of financial statement analysis has there been considerable changes since 1986, with respect to capacity and speed of computers etc. The examples too are of course somewhat outdated. In spite of its age, this is a book that we will recommend to all of you interested in learning about the analysis of financial statements.

Summary: Still a great book
Review: ... The book would have no match for researchers had it been updated. However, I still feel the book teaches a lot about data management and data usage and is still agreat book for academic research. This is an unevitable book for the researchers. I would personally be obliged if the author could and publishers get the book updated.

Summary: Dated
Review: Probably this was a great book on FSA in 1985, but now with the proliferation of FSA books, this outdated book has no place in one's book shelf. Get White, Sondhi & Fried. I don't understand why the author has never bothered to update this book.
