Review: Diversification is key. Diversification ensures that when there are big swings and big hits in the U.S. market, a portfolio has some balance to it. For safety, look for markets that don't react the same way at the same time as your domesitc market does, and that should be offshore. The other main reason to invest offshore is opportunity. Opportunities abound in places like China, the Middle East, Africa and other third world nations that are shedding their third world status.
