Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down Review: An excellent resource for entrepreneurs and marketing directors. Danziger presents well-documented fact, experience, and example, served with an easy-to-grasp clarity. This book will help you understand why and how luxury retail is booming, especially in cities like Atlanta, where an estimated 18% of the population has a household income that exceeds $100,000 per year.
As a side note: To get an even better overview of today's affluent consumer and the growth opportunities this market represents, read Let Them Eat Cake in combination with Don't Think Pink (Johnson & Learned) and Marketing to Women (Barletta).
Rating: Summary: WalMart Owns the Bottom Market, Move Upscale Review: The up-scale market is where you almost have to go in face of WalMart. It's also where the money is. The affluent consumers have incomes two-and-one half times larger than the average and their households spend twice as much on all kinds of consumer goods and services. This book, based on original research conducted by the author defines exactly this consumer, how to market to them, and how this market has changed as the Baby Boomers have evolved into this segment. The research was conducted on the top 25% of US households with an income of over $75,000.
The author is a nationally recognized expert specializing in consumer insights and president of Unity Marketing, a marketing consulting firm she founded in 1992.
