Rating: Summary: A blueprint for success Review: I didn't realize how screwed-up the advertising agencies I worked in for 35 years were until I read Joe Phelps's book. If I were to start an agency today, I'd use Pryamids Are Tombs as my blueprint. It's a book that should change the way business is done, the way companies are organzed and run.

Rating: Summary: A smart look at the future of the ad biz Review: Joe Phelps is recognized as a top innovator in an industry that innovates for a living. Pyramids Are Tombs makes a strong case for why small, self-led teams is the first organizational structure that truly allows the awesome potential of integrated marketing communications to be realized.
Rating: Summary: An agency IMC roadmap Review: Joe Phelps, founder and president of The Phelps Group, writes about an agency management system that proves clients can benefit from having one agency do all their customer relationship building communication. Many clients say it is impossible for one agency to be excellent in all MC areas. This is true, but what is overlooked is that when multiple brand messages are truly integrated, the produced synergy nine times out of ten will have greater impact than a collection of "great" but unrealted brand messages. This book explains how an agency can truly integrated brand messages. The only thing I don't understand is why Joe is giving his secret away. This book is sure to create more competition for The Phelps Group as competitors learn how to better satisfy their clients.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: This is a MUST READ for any business leader serious about competing for the best of employees and the best of customers, for the long term. Joe Phelp's concept of "self-managed, client-based teams in a full feedback environment" is applicable to virtually every company aspiring to be great. Done the way Joe suggests in this compelling book, it can be powerfully effective both in creating the kind of organization you want to run, with the people you want working at their best, and in attracting and keeping the kind of customers you want--to everybody's benefit. Ann Graham Ehringer, PhD Visiting Professor, Trinity College, Univ. of Dublin, Ireland Former Professer of Entrepreneurship, Univ. of Southern Calif. Business Owner, Independent Board Member and Business Coach

Rating: Summary: A Blue Print for Integrated Marketing Review: Today's noisy media landscape has created an "attention economy" placing unique pressures on marketing budgets, and a return to customer relationship management. Joe Phelps' "Pyramids are Tombs" reminds us that true CRM starts with client focused work flow practices, and the flexible and scalable power of self-directed teams. "Pyramids are Tombs" is not just one man's vision of how to run a marketing and communications agency, it's a sneak peak at the "blue print" for integrated marketing.
