For those of us who wrestle actually making strategy a meaningful tool that informs our daily activities, Steve presents a very straight foward set of guidelines for how to balance planning with responsiveness. Read it! Use it!

Summary: An intriguing and refreshing approach to strategy
Review: Unlike a lot of academic works on strategy, this book actually presents the issues, and helps guide practicing line managers to solutions (rather than telling them what they ought to do), in a real-world, commonsense way. Many of the author's suggestions on how to generate ideas from people at all levels of the organization, get commitment, etc. are really innovative and thought-provoking.
