Linear Programming and Economic Analysis

Summary: Good if you care more about the economics than the math...
Review: I have to agree with the other reviewer, this is a fantastic book. It explains very clearly how powerful a tool linear programming can be in economics. However, this book really ties its hands by only talking about matrices or any of the mathematical reasons why linear programming works as it does in an appendix. If you're a mathematician that wants to learn about linear programming, this is definitely not the book. But if you're an economist, or just someone interested in economics, that wants to learn about linear programming, then this book is definitely for you. It is very rich with economic ideas and covers a lot of interesting topics such as growth theory and welfare economics.
