Rating: Summary: Reader Beware -- More Relgion than Good Information Review: Frankly, I'd like my money back from the author or Amazon. Had I known that I was purchasiing over 15 pages of the author's religious thinking out of a 168-page book, I would not have bothered. While 'Notary Signing Agent' is a 'self-published' book and the author, therefore, has the right to put forth her religious beliefs, she or Amazon should note a disclaimer for the buyer -- that they are buying an informational and religious book. I like my information without religious packaging. Has Caveat Emptor no place in the modern busines world?
I e-mailed the author to inform her of my thoughts on 'using' the consumer. Three months later, no anwser.
As to the substance of the book, I think any serious business person would recognize 'fill' when they see it. For example, pages 104 to 115 cover 'How to Set Up A Title Company'. Really this has 'nada' to do with notary signing. Fill, is fill. You know it when you see it; but to pay for it is another matter.
In sum, the book is (1) 'switch and bait' for the consumer -- you buy a book on becoming a notary signing agent and you get warnings on the "The Existence and Location of Hell" and quotations from the Bible on "Admit You Are A Sinner"
(2) poorly written (see the author's Model Letters --e.g, page 100). I'd advise people not to send these poorly written letters out to serious business people
(3)narrow -- e.g., significant mention is made of only one national notary association -- there is little on the plethora of other notary associations which the newcomer notary might want to learn about.
I'd like my money back and an apology.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book I Ever Read for Notary Signing Agents! Review: I recently purchased "How to Start, Operate and Market a Freelance Notary Signing Agent Business". I have to tell you that I am a Realtor, Licensed Title Agent , Instructor at PACE Institute and Certified Paralegal in the State of Pennsylvania, and I think this book is GREAT! It not only explains the loan documents, which by the way, when I'm attending settlements where some attorneys are present, they let me run the show. I have been doing this for quite some time, and I just wanted to let you know what a valuable reference book this is for someone new in the business.

Rating: Summary: OK for notary info, but the religious stuff is useless! Review: The content of the book with respect to the notary subject is moderately helpful. It has some good hints and tips. I was surprised that the book has to include basic concepts such as, "be kind to your customers." I bought this book in digital format not realizing that the security settings would not let me print more than 10 pages a week. I was very disappointed because I prefer to highlight things, write notes in margins as I study a text. I would have bought the hard copy if I had known about this security setting. The main thing that bothers me about this book is all of the Christian references. There is a Christian quote at the beginning of each section. These quotes didn't help me since I am not into religion, so I ignored them. The end of the book contains a section titled "Victoria Ring's Statement of Faith". This section is completely irrelevant to the book's subject and it just made me MAD!!! How dare the author state, "The only way to escape Hell is to admit you are a sinner and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save you...". The author is being completely selfish and rude to assert her personal beliefs about religion in a book that has nothing to do with religion. It really PISSES ME OFF when religious freaks use any opportunity to assert their arrogance and tell the world that their views/beliefs/perspective is the only correct view! This infers that the rest of the world is wrong... what about Hinduism and Buddhism - or those people who are Atheists??? Including this religious section was very unprofessional and a waste of my time!

Rating: Summary: The ABC's of Loan Signing Review: This is the "definitive" book on this topic. I have been a Realtor and a Loan Officer in the past and I had heard of Loan Signing Agents but this book fleshes out the profession and gives a greater understanding of what's involved. I have seen and read other books on loan signing but they were for people already in the business. This book opens the door and gives you and introduction to the business and a working knowledge of the business. When you finish this book you are ready to begin working. It should be called the "ABC's of Loan Signing" or the "Quick Start Loan Signing Guide!"
