Review: At first it seemed like another textbook on economic growth with the good old end-of-chapter questions. After a closer look I realized this is a really sophisticated piece of economic literature. I believe the main difference from other books in the field lies in the blend of rigorous mathematical analysis and necessary - but always forgotten - historical perspective. A must read!

Review: I found that the book was really interesting to my studies as an "economist". In fact, it is a precise description of the effects of history and politics in economics. With regards to the use a student may give to the book, I found really good the examples given by the author. In addition, the excercises proposed with their solutions are really helpful when it's time to study !
