Rating: Summary: A detailed, timely publication Review: M. Thea Sinclair masterminds a collection of insightful essays on the interraction between gender and tourism. Interesting reading both for the anthropologist and gender student as well as the laymen, this book offers detailed views on a previously marginalised body of literature. I found the essay on gender and tourism in Balinese villages particularly helpful for my own research, but other essays, such as "Gender Takes a Holiday: Representation in holiday brochures" will strike a cord with most readers closer to home. A readable and enjoyable approach for anyone who wants to know how their holiday affects the lives of others.
