Rating: Summary: Simply said, It Makes $ense! Review: I am a business consultant who has spent many years in the selling process. I have read tons of books on the subject and most of them say the same things. None of them taught me anything about motivational acceleration. I've been employing Mr. Sullivan teachings since then and our clients appreciate our thoughtfulness. More importantly, they reward us for it. Everyone of the Arromand, Inc family will be recieve a copy of this book and you should to.
Rating: Summary: Rangers Lead The Way! Review: I've read more than one of Steve's books (to say the least) and for real good reason. He has take a tried an true method of leadership, work ethic and just plain "Get'n it done" attitude that Rangers have perfected over the a course of time that is longer than the existence of this country and applied it to the world of sales. The US Army Rangers have streamlined their tactics to an almost automatic perfection. Steve has become incredibly successful by implemented this tried and true method to the sales profession. His willingness to share this with others is incredible! I feel energized every time I read his work. (Yes, I've read some his books more than once!) You really have to read his work, it's written in form that all may be able to grasp it. I've read many, many books in this filed and most of them have a similar message. What Steve has done is not only has he brought a new message to the table but he has put his message in a text that truly ANYONE can embrace. I STRONGLY recommend this book to everyone. He is proof to the US Army Rangers Motto: RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!
Rating: Summary: What?!?!?! Review: QUOTE: ------------------------------------------------------------- "Reviewer: A reader from Seoul Korea I am a sales trainer and consultant and most of my clients are big multi-national corporations. I believe this is one of the worst sales know-how books I have read in a long time. There is no coherant sales processes or concepts in this book. Just whole bunch of war stories and random tips. The content was so disorganized, I stopped reading it about half-way through." ------------------------------------------------------------- How absurd!!! I can understand why this individual wouldn't want to remain anonyms. I have been involved in business deals / Selling cycles with Korean professionals and I will concede that their way of doing business is different. That may be as to why he can't comprehend Steve's methods but I will say this... I had a very productive relationship with those said Korean professionals and I "operate" with the mindset that Steve talks about in his book(s) so the proof is in the pudding... It works! Additionally: He spelled coherent wrong which is somewhat apropos, I think...

Rating: Summary: A REAL SALES BIBLE Review: Selling Made Simple is a MUST read (and re-read) for all serious sales people (new and old). As a salesman of 18 years I can say with confidence that Steven Sullivan's book hits on all 8 cylinders. Like the great teacher Steven Sullivan is, he breaks down each of the steps of selling into its simplest form allowing the reader to quickly digest the neccessary skills (which we all can learn) and build upon. The other key he stresses which seems obvious (but most salespeople don't do)is to actively listen to our prospects and customers. WOW!! Seems simple enough right? But how many times have we all come across salespeople who only focus on what they want to sell us vs. what we want and need? Many a salesperson could use a copy of this book. Great Salespeople never stop trying to learn how to improve and if thier is one thing that this book will do for you (if you take the time) is allow you to analyze your strengths and weakness' and develop an systematic approach to continual improvement. Finally, he stresses the importance of under promising and over performing for our customers. That does not mean we should all underachieve. All the GREAT ones learn this and outsell thier competitors by never promising something that can't deliver and furthermore something which is in excess of what the customer expected. The fundamentals Steve talks about in his book really are simple. It's having the discipline to do them everday that seperates Outstanding Sales people from Average salespeople. So take the first step and buy the book. Then read it again at least once a month for a year. Practice makes PERFECT! Repetition is a salespersons best friend....... See you at the TOP!!!
Rating: Summary: Selling Made Simple Review: Selling Made Simple should be a part of any salesperson's curriculum (rookie or veteran). I am the Vice President of Sales for a firm that sells complex, high end IT products. Recently I decided to get back in the trenches and to speak to real prospects to see what the selling environment is really like these days. For the past 3 years, I had no interaction with prospects and my only contact was with the account managers that work for me. Here is the net-net - I am opening up accounts, winning business again and it is fun. Many of the account managers cannot believe the success that I am having, especially considering the climate that we are selling into now. This is the scoop folks - sales is sales and it can be done using BASIC PRINCIPALS. Sullivan's reminds us of the basics. I have over 300 books in my sales library and Selling Made Simple reminded me of what it takes to sell ! Selling Made Simple demonstrates real world techniques in a very concise manner. It is short , sweet, and in a few hours your notepad will be full of ideas on how to attack the market TODAY. Sean Shea
Rating: Summary: I LOVED this book!!! Review: Steve Sullivan gives you credit for having a brain. He delivers a conceptual understanding of a process and lets the reader fill in the blanks. His message is crisp, straight-froward and doesn't mince words. As a result, I got just what I wanted. The book cemented in my mind what a sales relationship should be about-Gaining Influence with a customer. The anecdotal stories made the book as entertaining as it was educational. I will use his Objection Handling Model for the rest of my life.
Rating: Summary: The Only Sales Book I Keep On My Desk! Review: Steve Sullivans book Selling Made Simple is quite simply the best book on selling I have ever read. I have a Four Year Marketing/Communications Degree and have been in sales and sales management for fourteen years. I earn my living every month by following the golden rule and positively accelerating my customers. (Read the book you will understand)! I have read many books and none have so clearly and simply gotten to the heart of what it takes to succeed in selling. Selling Made Simple is easy to read and not a chore as some books on the subject are. It is written for real people not college courses and if you understand that meeting a customers needs just gets you on the playing field you are ready to excel in selling by reading this book. It's the one book I hope no one I compete against reads! Everyone sells even if their job is not selling and I recommend that this book is useful for anyone who has to convince anyone their course of action is best. What really makes this book shine is that it tells the truth that to succeed long term you better care about your customers. (and not mimic the ethics of some recent CEO's). Steve's book should be handed out to every business student. It would raise the value of their degree at least 100%! Steve Sullivan is a former Airborne Ranger (My second choice in professions but sales managers sleep more and get shot at less), an Entrepreneurial Success, a Salesman, and a Teacher. If you want to sell read this book it's that simple. Then have the faith to stand up and do whats right. Your customers will see the difference. I just have to say to Steve sullivan thank you for making it easier to get up and do my job each day and for reminding me why I'm here!
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: This book is truly revolutionary. It's different than all those other "how to" selling books. Sullivan doesn't mess around. His concepts are so simple, yet they were useful enough that I credit his concepts with the motivation of my entire sales team!! Read It. Sullivan is right, basic principles of human relations must not be forgotten when dealing with customers.
