Rating: Summary: Expensive binding, 14173 pieces of wisdom. Review: "A great book should leave you with many experiences, and slightly exhausted at the end." I bought this book because it was on a discount huge sale and the binding looks so great on my shelf. Once I got it home I find that I frequently find wise quotations on lots of subjects. The topics are arranged alphabetically from Ability to Zeal. I find that I sometimes pick it up and just read a few quotations, and invariably find them interesting and inspiring, or sometimes funny, but never dull. If you ever need a quick source for a quote on almost any topic, say "books" for example, just look in the book. Not just for business, but for lots of your life.

Rating: Summary: THE quote book Review: Look no further. Whether you're a writer or just would like to have a resource for business quotes, this is it. When buying a quote book, the number one criteria I suggest you use is to select a book that is grouped by topic, not by he/she who said the quote. When I'm writing, I know I want a quote, for instance, on "opportunities." So I look it up that way. 99/100 times I'm not going to know a person who may have said something intelligent on opportunity and look it up that way. I highly suggest you pick this up and read through it every so often. It will make you a more well-rounded person in the end.

Rating: Summary: This book is a dud Review: Most of the quotes are uninspiring and sophomoric, but it deserves two stars because it looks good on my bookshelf. Here's a quote to consider: caveat emptor...
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Most of us know by now that Mr. Forbes ran for his party's presidential nomination twice, and lost both times. What some people might not know is that he, and his father before him, ran a successful business magazine. You may be thinking that this is all very good so far but, what does this have to do with this book? Nothing, and everything. A quotation book, by necessity, must pick and choose those thoughts and ideas, expressed in a quote, which the authors find important and/or useful. This book has too many quotes from Mr. Forbes Sr. He was a great business man, but I didn't find his quotes very insightful. The authors, no doubt, felt compelled to enter this person's thoughts AND THOSE FORBES SR FELT WHERE INFLUENCIAL. That is this book's flaw. This book has too many quotes which are unneeded or uninteresting, because of the book's origins. If you were a great fan of Mr. Forbes, by all means you should get this book. Otherwise you would be better served and your money will be better spend if you buy a different quote book. Good Luck.
Rating: Summary: This book is a dud Review: My only complaint about this compilation is that the title is misleading. These are quotes about all aspects of life and human character. The quotes are arranged by theme and carefully indexed by author. It's great for just browsing or for picking up when you need something specific. I own an entire bookshelf of quotation compilations and this is one of my favorites. No quote love should be without this book.
Rating: Summary: Help me find him. Review: The Forbes Book of Business Quotations is a very useful book. It helped me a lot in finding a good quotation for my Voices of Democracy speech, but I have one small problem. I have no clue who the guy is that worte this excellent quote, and I need help finding him. His name is George E. Stringfellow and you'll find his quote in the section titled America. If you have any information regarding him, please e-mail me at Pygmalion_40@yahoo.com. And if you ever need a good quotation, I suggest you try this book.
