Summary: Very helpful!
Review: As an office manager for a small company, I found this book invaluable. Everything from forms to procedures and "how to" information. Lots of info for your $$!

We were not particularly automated so this was great for guidance as I set everything up. I designed my own forms so I didn't have any problems with the book but the reviewer below is correct, I don't recall a lot of computer reference.

Summary: Invaluable!
Review: I used this book when I was an office manager prior to becoming an online auction seller. I was the "office" part of a machine shop and this book was great, full of very helpful information from basic forms to personnel. Well worth the $$!!!

Summary: Floppy disk? DOS?
Review: While there are some fair to good suggestions for anyone who is trying to start up a Human Resources department - one of the things that drew me to this book was the mention that there were electronic forms that came with the book. The forms are on floppy disk and are available in DOS. Not a really good choice for a person who has been working with Windows 95 for years.

The one thing that I was able to use when I first got the book was the layout of Job Descriptions. I couldn't use the ones on the disk, but the layout in the book is fairly good. However, I soon discovered other, better books on the market and have shelved this one.
