Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Insightful and scholarly
Review: Definitely a must buy for political science majors like me who is particularly interested in international political economy. Reads like IPE, comparative politics and democracy studies all rolled into one. The authors did a good job in presenting relevant case studies from Asia to Europe in illustrating their points. The book helped me a lot in my research paper dealing with the economic transitions of former communist states i.e. Poland and Russia, and provided the context and some of the details I needed to push my hypothesis.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Democratization studies
Review: I found it to be a timely and much needed book covering the broad spectrum of democratization theory and processes. I especially appreciated the many different and sometimes conflicting views of democracy theory, which lets the reader evalute the information for him/herself without be swayed by the editors opinions.
