It is about a small mouse that goes through too many troubles for a small boy. In my opinion this book and all of Brian Jacques' young adult books deserve more than they have otten. Maybe even a Newberry Award. Mattimeo is an outstanding book because of its immense amount of description. All you have to do is read one chapter and you're in and can't stop reading. I like Ambrose Spike, the hedge hog. He is so funny. The bird says, "I will not stand here and be insulted by you! " Then Amberose says, "Then stand somewhere else and I'll insult you there! " Read it A.S.A.P.

Rating: Summary: Best Fantasy Book! Better than Harry Potter! Review: The Redwall series are a magnificent work of art. Cunning, smart, and a work of genius! This book has action, adventure, drama, etc. It will be good to all readers, other than some of the violence, this book gets you thinking! Not only is it a page thriller, this book is a good way for young readers to get to the next step, from 100 page books to 400 may seem a lot, but this book will please everyone!
Rating: Summary: Amazing!!! Review: I REALLY liked Mattimeo, by Brian Jacques. It is the story of a young mouse who is kidnapped along with his friends by Slagar the fox. He and the other young animals are marched along to be sold as slaves to Malkariss and his huge rat armies. Matthias the Warrior (Mattimeo's father) sets off with other creatures to bring back their young ones. Meanwhile, in peaceful Redwall Abbey, a flock of evil birds, led by General Ironbeak, decide to take over. Does Matthias rescue Mattimeo and return triumphant?? Do the peaceful Redwall dwellers manage to outsmart the menacing General Ironbeak?? You'll have to read the book to find out!! I advise reading "Mossflower" and "Redwall" before reading this book- you'll understand much more. But either way, just get out and read "Mattimeo." It'll be worth it!!!!
Rating: Summary: Go Thorn or Shout for this one! Review: One of twelve books, this novel will always be one of my favorites. I'd recommend reading "Redwall" and "Mossflower" before "Mattimeo", but it's okay by itself. However, some parts might be hard to understand. So if you like books about questing animals and hard-to-solve riddles, read "Mattimeo".
Rating: Summary: Classic Characters Return In an "A+" Adventure Review: The third novel written in the Redwall series, -Mattimeo- relates the journey of Matthias (my favorite character) and company in a quest to rescue the kidnapped children of Redwall. Along the way, new characters are met, old ones are slaughtered at an alarming rate, startling revelations are thrown at the reader, and a familiar location arises. Jacques must have poured his heart and soul into writing this masterpiece. He delves into every battle, riddle, and encounter with remarkable detail and never skimps on description. However, the action is set at a furious pace, which keeps you speed-reading to learn what happens to both Matthias and Company and back home at the Abbey. Even so, don't expect to blow through this book in two days. Four-hundred-odd pages of nonstop adventure and mayhem are wrapped in a small package, just waiting to explode in your face (what was that old adage about dynamite?). The one problem this novel has is that, according to the aging of other characters in other novels, Matthias is still a young mouse, seemingly just old enough to have a son the age of Mattimeo without much of a problem. Because of this fact, I am disappointed that the title of Abbey Warrior was bestowed upon someone else when Matthias is still young. Also, with the same fact, I expected another novel or two with Matthias as the hero, but it hasn't happened so far. Any halfwit can see for him/herself that these novels are NOT FOR CHILDREN. Jacques takes the gratuitous violence and grim massacres to too much of an extreme for children to read this without having nightmares. Swashbuckling and even dark along the same lines as -Redwall-, -Mattimeo- is a rip-roaring descent into the veritable realm of evil and cruelty which Jacques artfully imparts in a grim-yet-humorous fashion.

Rating: Summary: The Best Redwall Book Yet! Review: This was an exciting book that kept me sat upright in my chair the entire time reading it. I never wanted to put the book down, I got so into it I think I shouted out in class once or twice. This is a fascinating, extravagant, fun-filled book that leaves you waiting for more to happen. After I read this book, I went to all the other Brian Jaques books and read them all. I thought that these were the best written books by an author I've ever seen. He keeps to the story line, keeps you on your feet, and doesn't stop the action from coming. If you were to read this book, I will bet that you will love it and that your friends will love it too! I advise you to read it, you'll get caught up in it and not want to put the book down!
