Review: This is a delightful book for people of all ages. Molly is a lonely orphan looking for a better life. She has but one friend, Rocky Scarlet. She is having the worst time of her life until she finds a book of hypnotism and everything changes! When I read this book for school, I started out thinking, "Oh no, another book!", but after the first chapter, I was hooked! Normal books about people's life are just too boring. This book has just the right amount of twists! It keeps you thinking and I got so into it, that one day I read for 3 hours straight! The ending to this book is so unexpecting! It was by far the best book I have ever read!

Summary: Fantastic book!
Review: This is Georgia Byng's first novel and I am extremely impressed with it. The writing, characters, plot, and setting all come together to create a fabulous tale about an orphan girl's startling discovery that would change her world forever.

Molly Moon was just another orphan living at Hardwick House. She was always being picked on by the other kids and was tormented by the headmaster, Ms. Adderstone. Molly only had one friend and would often spend her time being punished for things like taking a bath with too much water or being bullied by Hazel Hackersky. To make matters worse, her best friend Rocky was adopted from the orphanage and taken to New York with a new family.

But one day, Molly's bad luck changes for the better. She discovers a mysterious old book entitled "Hypnotism," written by a hypnosist expert. Molly first tested it out by hypnotizing the orphnage's dog, Petula, and discovered she was a natural. She even won two thousand pounds at a local talent show and decided to put her earnings to use. After hyptotizing both Miss Adderstone and the orphanage's cook into liking her, Molly decides to go to New York and try to find Rocky. But before you can say "hypnotism," Molly is staying at the most expensive hotel in New York City and earning forty-thousand dollars a month by being the star of a hit Broadway musical. But that's not all- a stranger determined to get the book is watching Molly and plotting a plan to get that book...

This is an excellent book for ages 8-12. It's mixed with humor, sadness, and happiness all at the same time. Readers will be cheering for the impressible Molly, who has the adventure of her life in this book.

Summary: Does not compare to Harry Potter
Review: This story has an OK start but gets wordy in the middle and becomes quite preachy towards the end. Does not compare to Rowling, who has an organic ability to deliver subtle lessons of morality without being preachy. Nonetheless, it's a decent book and I would recommend it to my 8-year-old.

Summary: She'll put a Trance on You!
Review: Watch-out! While your reading this realistic fiction novel with a touch of fantasy, Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism, by Georgia Byng, just might put a trance on you!

Molly is always getting picked on at Hardwick House, owned by thr cruel Miss Adderstone, so she loves to go to her special get-away place, the Briersville Library. There she finds a extraordinary book on hypnotism!

When Molly hypnotizes her way to New York City and Broadway stardom, a mysterios man is watching her every move. Will Molly ever find out who he is and what he wants?

This is personally my favorite book because I have read this book so many times and I've always found it amazingly interesting. I think the appropriate age group is 9 to 12 or 4th to 6th grade. You should definitely read this book if you are into acting or mysteries.

Summary: Amazing Start to A Fantastic New Series
Review: Young Molly Moon is no ordinary orphan. No, not in the least. You see, Miss Molly finds a mysterious old book on hypnotism, and soon she discovers that by using this wonderful newfound tool, she is able to make people do whatever she wants. Good or bad. But as Molly continues using her secret book of hypnotism, a stranger, a sinister stranger, becomes interested in her powers, and begins watching her every move, and he will now do anything to steal her hypnotic secret. Molly must find a way to keep her hypnotism secret just that, a secret, and escape unharmed, and undiscovered by the sinister stranger.

I will admit that I first picked up this book solely on the cover picture, and by the title, as I have always been greatly interested in hypnotism. However, what I found, was an amazing start to a fantastic new series, as MOLLY MOON'S INCREDIBLE BOOK OF HYPNOTISM is just that. Molly is an adorable character, who reminds you a bit of J.K. Rowling's HARRY POTTER character, what with the whole "orphan" thing, but that's where the similarities end. Readers of all ages, whether children or adults, who enjoy a great fantasy/adventure story, will find themselves unable to put down Georgia Byng's debut novel. With twists and turns at every corner, this book is sure to be a pleaser. I am now eagerly anticipating the sequel, MOLLY MOON STOPS THE WORLD.
