Summary: A book about having no parents.
Review: Hi man! Do I have a book for you! Do you want drama and excitement? Then I have the book for you. This book is called Monkey Island by Paula Fox. It's about this boy named Clay. His mom and dad left him for no reason. Clay was both mad and afraid so he ran away to look for his parents. Then he meets up with these two guys named Calvin and Buddy. He ends up living with them in a cardboard crate. You won't believe what happens next. When I read the book I could not stop worrying about Clay. This book is for ages 10 and up.

Summary: A book about homeless people.
Review: Hi, I am reading the book Monkey Island by Paula Fox. It is about a boy who runs away to find his mom and dad. I think the age group for this book would be 4th-6th grade. I loved the whole book because I like books that have to find something to their life. I think that you will love this book because you learn some surprising facts about homeless people.

Summary: A wonderful story, rich in imagry
Review: I am so thankful that I found this book. I read it in one sitting and am looking forward to sharing it with my 6th-graders. Many of my students are only a few steps away from Clay's street hut. It is for them that I want to shed a light of hope. I think this book can help me do that for them. It is also a great book to read to children who have what they need to stay warm and well-fed. It will afford them the opportunity to get to know someone their age that must go without and take chances that have very uncertain outcomes.

Summary: It was an okay book.I don't always like non fictionn.
Review: I don't really like non fiction books, but this one was okay. I liked how at the end it ended up happy and he even saw Buddy again. I didn't like how in the first chapter it was confusing because it kept flashing back from the past to the present. I would recomend it to a friend who would want to know about homelessness and likes books where the story could really happen. That is my review of Monkey Island C.B.Fox

Buddy soon gets sick with pneomnia. He is hospitalized for several days. Once they (hospital) find that he is not with his parents they end up trying to find a foster family for him and in suceed in doing so. Once Clay is with his foster family they also find his mother in which Clay goes to live with. This is a great story about life and why you should appreciate it every single day. Summary: This book is about homeless people.
Review: I read the book called Monkey Island written by Paula Fox. The characters in the book are Clay, Calvin and Buddy. Clay is only 11 years old. I think only 12 and up should read this book because it was kind of difficult to understand. I didn't relate to this book because luckily I was never homeless. It was hard for me to understand because of that. Also, the vocabulary was difficult.

Summary: A book that will change your mind about homeless people.
Review: I read the book Monkey Island by Paul Fox. It is a very good book. It is a book about a eleven year old boy whose mom left him all alone at their house. The boy's name is Clay. Clay stayed at his house waiting for his mom and dad to come back. When they didn't come back, Clay became a homeless boy. While out in the streets he met two people , Buddy and Calvin . They befriended him. I can't tell you any more. It is your turn to read the book. You will learn something from this book. I learned don't judge people by their looks because they might be very nice. Also, I learned we should all be helpful for the people that need more money.I can tell you if everyone helped the homeless people our world would be a better place to live where every person had food to feed themselves and their families. So read this book and see if it changes any of the things you thought of homeless people before. I tell you it will change something.
