Summary: "Stop," Drop and Read
Review: Georgia Byng follows up the bestselling "Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism" with "Molly Moon Stops the World," another fast-paced novel for children.

After learning how to hypnotize people all over the world, rescuing her pet pug Petunia from being dog-napped, you'd think Molly would have had enough adventures to last a lifetime. However, the evildoers of the world simply aren't done doing evil. Molly soon finds herself on a plane to Los Angeles, where she and her best friend Rocky discover that Primo Cell, a powerful, rich public figure, has been controlling celebrities - and has learned how to stop time! Of course, that is not enough for Cell. Now he wants to be President of the United States!

This novel has enough tongue-in-cheek references to the media, advertising, award shows, celebrities and politicians to keep adults interested and smirking. There is plenty of time-stopping action and spy-like work by the young protagonists to get kids oohing and aahing. If you enjoyed the first Molly Moon book, or if you like the film Clockstoppers, I am certain that you will enjoy "Molly Moon Stops the World."

Summary: good for kids
Review: i am 13 and i just read this book, while i admit the end of the book was really good, the other parts r really dry and unexciting for a middle schooler, or at least an 8th grader. but i would think 10 and 11 yr olds would love this book.

Review: I love the whole Molly Moon series so far, however, this book really surprised me with the direction things went.

I think the entire subject of hypnotism is really interesting and the concept of a little girl mastering it and using it to help others creates a great story.

Anyone interested in this book, please make sure you read the others first because this one takes everything that happened before it and explains how it all came to be. And it completely flips the entire story around from what you'd expect.

I love Petunia. She's the best dog character.

Another great book that I recommend to both older and younger readers. As an adult I found it to be a witty, interesting story that solidifies this series as one of my favorite.

Summary: a fun-filled thrill ride
Review: The young British hypnotist Molly Moon is back --- and ready to use her powers to mingle with Hollywood's hottest stars at the Academy Awards! Author Georgia Byng introduced readers to the unlucky orphan Molly Moon in her debut novel MOLLY MOON'S INCREDIBLE BOOK OF HYPNOTISM. In this first effort, Molly stumbles upon a mysterious book about hypnotism and discovers that she has a hidden talent to hypnotize anyone into getting what she wants. Molly is able to change her dreary, miserable life in the orphanage into a happy one and she also uses her powers to win a talent show competition in New York City.

MOLLY MOON STOPS THE WORLD brings back many of the characters from the first book --- including Molly's best friend and co-conspirator Rocky and her lovable pug Petula, who makes the covers of these books so appealing! Molly's life at the orphanage is now filled with friendship and happiness.

One afternoon Molly's librarian friend, Lucy Logan, asks her to go on a special mission. Famous child star Davina Nuttel is missing, and Lucy thinks she knows who might be involved in the kidnapping. She has pieced together information on an American billionaire, Primo Cell. Cell owns hundreds of companies and makes his businesses even more successful through celebrity endorsements --- but how does he do it? Lucy has a theory: "Hypnotic power goes to bad as well as to good people. Bad people who can hypnotize are very greedy and destructive. This businessman is very dangerous."

And worst of all, Cell has found a way to use his hypnotic powers to permanently hypnotize his subjects. He must be stopped, and it's up to Molly Moon to help!

With a little hypnotizing and persuasion, Molly arranges for Mrs. Trinkelbury, the headmistress of the orphanage, to take a group of the orphans to Los Angeles for a vacation. While in LA, Molly, Rocky and Petula head off to find Primo Cell and find out exactly how he controls the minds of celebrities --- and along the way, Molly discovers an amazing new power of her own.

MOLLY MOON STOPS THE WORLD is a fun-filled thrill ride of a story. Molly Moon's exciting adventures with hypnotism take her to the Academy Awards, parties with celebrities and dangerous, life-threatening experiences. Lemony Snicket fans will especially enjoy the creepy villains and brilliant, heroic children. The plot has many twists and turns that will keep readers in suspense throughout the book --- and leave them wanting more Molly Moon stories!

Summary: Great Book though not as good as the 1st one
Review: This book was really good. It's really different from the first one with a whole new setting and story. The one thing I disliked about the book that at times it could be slightly boring and it also wasn't as good as the 1st one. The best part is close to the end, this book has an amazing ending. I highly recommend this book, read it!
