Summary: My child won't go potty without it!
Review: As a mom of a toddler, this book is a big help in potty training. My little boy relates to Henry and even has to have his own "little teddy" to hold while he goes potty. This book is a must have!

Summary: For an older child perhaps
Review: I bought this for my son when he was 19 months old and it does not hold his attention. I think it is too long and he cannot relate to the drawings. I am going to keep trying to read it though, as I suspect he might be more interested in the 2-3 year old range. The illustrations and wording are very cute.

Summary: the potty book for mitchell
Review: I found this book after in the first book store that I looked in for 'toilet training' books. I wanted a book for my son to read, not one on actual techniques for the parents. My son has now succussfully been toilet trained. The 'number 2s' was the hardest part, with my son moving around or sleeping so that he wouldn't feel the need. So I encouraged him to use the potty and he places a star sticker in the front on his 'potty book' every time he does 'number 2s' succussfully. Now there is no issue when he comes to doing 'number 2s'.

Summary: My son loves this book!
Review: I looked through 7 or 8 potty books before selecting this one. As mentioned in an earlier review, it covers many points in the potty training journey, such as bringing the potty home, trying it out, having an accident, getting support from parents, getting potty trained, calling grandma to tell her, picking out underwear, being proud of self. (Many potty books are very short and don't really cover that much.) It rhymes, is very positive, and offers the opportunity to read with a lot of expression. Also, in case it matters to you, it uses the words "potty," "pee," and "poop," for euphemisms. The book is a bit long, but hey, you're going to be in the bathroom for a while anyway! My son absolutely loves it, and it motivates him to go to the potty. Highly recommended.

Summary: The Power of Association Worked!
Review: I must have bought no fewer than a half dozen toilet training books and videos, but this one hands down made the biggest impression. Once my son was ready to train, he constantly compared his success to that of the book's hero, Henry, and we when too had success, you can bet we went out and bought that very special first pair of underwear, just like You Know Who. Even now, 6 mos. after successful completion of training, I still get requests for Henry. For technique, I recommend Dr John Rosemond; for mentoring, Henry.

Summary: The greatest Potty Training tool we've found!
Review: I too wish this book was a board book as it's taking a hammering. We keep it in the toilet and only bring it out when we're having a 'go'. I read it over and over again and am already getting sick of the sound of my own voice but the little guy loves it. In New Zealand we don't say dipers so I change the words around to nappy, wees and poos and even call the boy by my son's name (2 years)It keeps him focused on what we're doing. Good quality book all the same and I like another reviews idea of putting a sticker inside each time there is a successful deposit. Hasn't happened yet but we're not far off!

Summary: Ready to Potty Train your little one?
Review: If you are ready to potty train your little one, then this book is for you. It is fun and easy to read and my kids love to read it over and over. The best part is that the story treats the child with respect, even when the inevitable "accident" happens. Highly recommended.

Summary: great book
Review: MOther of an 18 mo boy, this book is great--however, I wish it didn't reference the word POTTY...but we just replace it with toilet throughout. My son seems to really enjoy it.
