Summary: "Forever pets" and their "forever people" will reunite
Review:

The author wrote this God-blessed little book after having a wonderful vision of her beloved dog Martha in the arms of an angel; it turned her bereavement into inspiration. It should lift the heart and spirit of anyone who reads it.

I would like to make several recommendations here since there is no category as of yet specifically on animal afterlife, on-line (or in any other lists for that matter).

Because of this and the fact that there are so few books written on this subject, those in grief over the loss of a pet often find themselves desperately searching, and miss out. I would therefore like to list all the books that I know of dealing with afterlife of animals. Amazon.com has sites on all of them. You can visit each site to learn more on each respective title.

"Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates".Excellently done:inspired compassionate, fully-Biblical

"The Soul of Your Pet". Convincing, credible evidence regarding animals' existing after death.Interactions with pets that have passed on. Will defy skeptics.

"Will I See Fido in Heaven?". Solidly Christian, inspired, loving.

"For Every Dog an Angel". Angel stays with pup from birth, on. Written for children, adults will love even more. Wonderful!

"Dog Heaven". For children; adults will enjoy as well

"Cat Heaven" Children/adults

"All Dogs Go to Heaven". Well-known, has a story-line.

Summary: A beautiful and comforting tribute for dog owners
Review: A friend whose little dog 'Max' was killed by a car was the recipient of this book after I ordered it and read it myself. It is beautifully illustrated and very profound. My friend wrote, "losing my precious Max was like losing my child. I felt like I would never have a dog again but after reading "For Every Dog an Angel" I know now that I need another. She went to the pound the next day and adopted a dog. I will order more just to have on hand for my pet-loving friends.

Summary: Whimsical journey
Review: A whimsical journey for all ages, just so long as you love dogs. Beautifully illustrated, inspirational and uplifting. As Boomerang would say, "Through love, all things are possible." Very comforting to read and reread, when faced with the loss of a beloved pet.

Summary: Comfort when I needed it most
Review: After my fourteen year old dog died, the grief was incredibly overwhelming. The bond we had was much more than owner/pet. This book explained the bond that my dog and I shared. It offered such comfort in such simplicity. I have given one to friends that have lost their "forever dog." It is a wonderful book.

Summary: This book has a special meaning to young and old
Review: As a 60-something physician I first read this book. I have recommended it to many of my adult patients who have lost a pet as one of the most valuable sources of comfort that is available to help them get through their grief period. This not just a children's book. It's text should be considered gentle, not juvenile.
Christine Davis has provided a valuable service by writing this book. I was happy to see that a companion piece for cats has also been published. Thank you, Christine, for helping us cope with the profound loss of a companion.

Summary: For Every Dog an Angel
Review: For every dog an angel- O what a wondrous thought! God sent these creatures here in love What a blessing He hath wrought! How well God knew how much we'd love our precious furry friends and He knew too they'd love us back- He knew love never ends And so He made provision for His creatures- man and pet that we'd always be together- In the now and in the yet And if anyone does doubt this- thinks the Bible says "No no" He should read Rev'lations 5:13- You see? I told you so! For how can creatures praise our Lord if they no more exist? The idea is pure folly and must be swift dismissed! So take heart all who love your"kids" be they furry, feather'd or bald We'll romp and play with them again in Heav'n's eternal wald

Summary: For Every Dog an Angel
Review: I found this book soon after my "forever dog" Chow Mein went to Heaven. It is beautifully written and illustrated and a comforting tribute to all the "forever dogs." I highly recommend it to anyone who has had to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Today my Chow Mein sent me my new dog, Fluffernutter, just as this beautiful little book promised she would.

Summary: For Every Dog an Angel
Review: I have never lived without a pet in my life since the day I was born. For the first 18 years of my life I had only owned dogs. From then on I have had dogs and cats, but I had one special dog who was and always will be my "forever dog". Reading that book gave me hope that we will be together again someday. He has been in heaven 15 years now and I pick up and read that book at least once or twice a month. It has helped me to deal with the loss of my best friend and I know he is always watching over me.

Summary: A "must read" book for dog people.
Review: I ordered this book when a friend of mine lost her 11 year old Golden Retriever. Her daughter was having difficulty accepting the dogs passing, and I was looking for a book to help explain this process to a child. Once I got the book, I found that it was much more than a book on bereavement. The story is truly beautiful and very touching. It can be enjoyed equally by children and adults. I've recommended it to all my "dog" friends and it has been very well received. If you have ever loved a dog, you should read this book.

Summary: If you are touched by The Rainbow Bridge, this will too
Review: Not everyone understands the loss of a pet can affect you as deeply as losing one of your own children. This book is for the people who 'get' it.

I bought it originally for my husband's mother who lost her beloved dog, but he felt it was too juvenile to send to her. On the contrary, I found it sweet, whimsical and touching. I eventually gave it to a friend who was looking for a greeting card to send to another couple who had recently lost two dogs - They loved it.

It is a small, short book, beautifully illustrated in watercolor and easily read by a wide range of ages. The only dissapointment I felt is that it is basically an expanded story of the Rainbow Bridge, which if you've gone through the pain of losing a pet, and are reading this, you have probably already read it on several websites.

The book however puts it in a format that makes it convenient for giving to someone else instead of sympathy cards, which while there is more selection for pet-loss nowdays, simply don't cover it, or still come across as being written by someone who just doesn't understand what the fuss is about but feels the need to try and comfort the recipient.
