Rating: Summary: Classroom teacher's favorite little books!!! Review: Of all the books that I have in my classroom library, this little set is the one that the children have asked for again and again. I've taught for over 20 years, and have read many, many books over those years. With this little "nutshell", Sendak has truly captured the heart and soul of a child.
Rating: Summary: a prized collection Review: This collection of 4 Sendak's books are a gem!! I love Chicken soup with rice, Pierre, One was Jonny! Alligator All Around is a jolly rhyming verse book - perfect for the just-beguinning ABC learner. I wish to buy to all parents I know. Further, this is definately in my children's book collection shelf. Good things really come in small packages!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Books.. but.. Review: This is an excellent collection of books. BUT! I didn't check the dimensions! If you can't read WEE LITTLE TINY PRINT, don't buy this! It's SMALL!! My 2 year old adores these books. Alligators All Around and One Was Johnny are his favorites!
Sadly, I assumed these would be the bigger size that we got from the library. Live and learn!
Rating: Summary: Nutshell Library Review: We picked this up on a trip to New York years ago because my partner grew up with it. We now have a two year old daughter whose love of this set borders on obsession. I must have read them 100 times by now and have yet to tire of it. My daughter knows it off by heart despite the fact she can't read. No wonder as Sendak is a genius whose wit and imagination know no bounds. I can't recommend it highly enough.
