Rating: Summary: My Most Treasured Childhood Memory Review: "Miss Suzy was little gray squirrel who lived in the tip, tip top of an old oak tree." I can still hear my big sister reading this to me. It's the only story I wanted to hear and she read it to me diligently every night for years until I learned to read it myself. Unfortunately, my copy was lost during a move and I have searched high and low these past few years for a copy. I pray Amazon can find one for me.
Rating: Summary: "WHO'S STEPPING ON MY STAIR" Review: I am 33 years old and my mother used to read this book to me very often. I would love to have a copy for my 3 daughters. I want to make sure that I am ordering the correct book because I can't remember all of the details of the story. My mom remembers a quote from Miss Suzy "Who's stepping on my stair". If someone could let me know if the quote is from this particular book, I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance. It would allow me to pass on a part of my childhood to my girls.
Rating: Summary: Home Sweet Home-Miss Suzy's Tall Tall Oak Tree Review: I love my home and all my cherished items as much as Suzy did hers in the tip tip top of her oak tree. It was my favorite story to read when I was young during the 70's. Every summer when I visited my grandmother I would run to the shelf in the dining room and read the book over and over again. When I finished reading the book, I would look around my grandmother's house and it would have old antiques and "pretties" to admire and arouse my curiosity. That is why today I believe I love antiques and flea market finds to decorate my home. I am an art teacher now and I read it to my classes and we discuss interior design elements in each of Miss Suzy's homes. My students and I both agree that Miss Suzy's informal home in the oak tree is much better than the formal home inside the attic. So did Miss Suzy!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: New Fan Review: I read the raving reviews of this book and curiosity got the best of me. Our library did not have a copy so I had to buy it to see why every reviewer gave 5 stars! It is a nice book that is actually well written and a delight to read. I knew nothing of this book until I bought it, but I think 30 years from now this will be one of the books that my daughter looks back on fondly.
Rating: Summary: Miss Suzy is a wonderful, warm and cozy children's book. Review: Miss Suzy was one of my favorite books when I was growing up. I was 7 when I got the books and enjoyed them until I was 9 or 10. It was one of the books I always picked out to read. Miss Suzy with her acorn coffee cups and firefly lamps painted such a vivid picture in my mind of the cozy little house she had built in the treetops. Illustrations were great also!
Rating: Summary: My whole family loves this book! Review: My parents read this book to my sisters and me when we were young (some twenty-odd years ago) and we never tired of it. We've worn out our copy, and would love to replace it so that the next generation of children in our family can enjoy the magical yet cozy world of Miss Suzy the squirrel.
Rating: Summary: Miss Suzy needs a reprinting! Review: My sister and I were read Miss Suzy when we were very little. I don't remember all that much about it, except that Miss Suzy was my favorite squirrel and the toy soldiers and it was just a wonderful children's book. Now that I'm pregnant with my first child, I want him/her to have this book too. It needs to be reprinted!
Rating: Summary: Another winner from PURPLE HOUSE PRESS! Review: Purple House Press has done it again.....republished an out-of-print book that was a childhood favorite for so many. As a young girl in the early 1970's, I loved this book. I found it again at a local library a couple of years ago and was thrilled to be able to share it with my children. Unfortunately, that library copy has now been lost and so my children lost their chance of happily reading this book over and over again. But thanks to the Purple House Press folks, I can now affordably purchase my own copy so my little ones (and I) can enjoy this charming tale as many times as we like.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Book from childhood Review: Purple House Press is proud to announce that Miss Suzy will soon be joining Miss Twiggley, she'll be back in print in 2004! Same great text and pictures in a hardcover edition to last for generations.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book that brings back soo many happy memories Review: Thank you for helping me find this book. I had a very rough childhood so I read a lot. A wonderful third grade teacher, that remains a friend to me even to this day .. introduced me to this book when I was 7 or 8. I would check it out of of school library at least 2 times a month. It was my favorite book for a long time. I've thought about this book often and of the teacher who intorduced me to it. Just by chance I thought I would see if I could find it here and I did. Thank you soo much for having it.
