Rating: Summary: Ahhhh, A Kindred Book for Silly-Music-Loving Parents.... Review: My household is a musical one - we can be heard making up songs all the time... one of our favorites is "Nature Girl" or "Nature Boy" depending whether my daughter or son is freshly out of the tub and running around only in "nature's finest"... the song "Nature Girl" is sung to the tune of "Baby Face".... And with all the energy of the era of THAT song!I loved singing these songs on the first read - from "The Yogurt Flies Straight from My Brother" to the tune of "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" to "I've Been Cleaning Up My Bedroom" to the tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad" and "Stinky Stinky Diaper Change' to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." Read, laugh, sing, laugh, hug your kids, laugh. You will all love this one!
Rating: Summary: I'll never sing another kids' song the same way again Review: The illustrations are fantastic. The lyrics are even better. What more can I say? It really is a great book and my daughter loves it. I'd like to see a CD with these songs (and more); the accompanying sound track would be hilarious. If you like to sing to your kids and have a great sense of humor, make sure this is on your list of books to buy.
Rating: Summary: Great Book for those who love rhyming! Review: These poems were so cute, and the verses were terrific- Great for all ages groups.
Rating: Summary: Want to make your little kids laugh with glee? Review: This book is a gem. Sing these "silly dilly songs" to your little kids and they will soon be singing along with you. To the tune of TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR comes: "Stinky stinky diaper change Boy, my brother smells so strange He made something in his pants Sure hope it won't attract ants Stinky stinky diaper change Boy, my brother smells so strange" Kids will love the lyrics and devour the art. Lots of fun for a family silly song fest.
Rating: Summary: Wish I'd had this growing up! Review: This book was adorable. The "new" songs were clever, and had me singing right there in the library (which is kind of embarassing if you are in high school surrounded by classmates)! The pictures were adorable, and I give major props to David Catrow, the illustrator, for his wonderful pictures. Great job, a great book for any child!
Rating: Summary: Let your kids laugh! Review: We're constantly nagging our kids about what to do and what not to do; what to say and what not to say. If you've taught your children well enough they will be able to take this book with light humor and not turn it into "potty talk" and "bad behavior". Yes, it has a picture of a (cartoon) little boy's naked butt flying out of the tub. Is it dirty? No - it's quite accurate. I don't know about you but my kids don't wear bathing suits in the bathtub. And as far as stinky diaper change goes... that's our favorite song right now because we have a new baby in the house and his 4 year old big brother loves me to sing it when I'm changing the baby's diaper. Afraid of the food fight song? Have a picnic outside and LET the kids have a food fight. What's the big deal? Let them be kids. Let yourself be a kid again. Let the kids laugh a little. They have many years ahead of them to be grown up and politically correct. OUR RATING: We think this book is GREAT!
