Summary: A Great Conversation Starter
Review: A friend of mine let me borrow this book so my 7 year old could read it. She now has it memorized. She has substituted our words for some of the words used. At first I wasn't sure if it would work because she was our foster child first. She came to us at 2 months. Our adoption wasn't finalized for 2 years. It has opened the lines of communication though. She loves it so much, that I have purchased our own copy of the book.

Summary: You don't have to be ADOPTED to enjoy this one..
Review: A well written and at points "Child Silly" story about adoption. It gives the child just enough information at an early age and does not overwhelm them with details that are irrevelant until they've grown older. It tells about how important and loved they were from the time their parents recieved the phone call they were born and explains the exciting trip to pick the child up at the hospital etc. I was adopted and found this to be a wonderful book for any child adopted or not. Every adoption has it's own story behind it and young children only need enough information to know they are Loved and Special no matter how they came into the world and Mrs.Curtis has captured that in her book.
I also recommend you purchase the taped version to go with the book..

Summary: A Universal Expression Of An Adoptive Parent's Happiness...
Review: For nearly 4 years, I've been unable to get through the line: "Tell me again how something so small could make you smile so big"... so my daughter finishes it for me... and that reassuring moment speaks volumes from my heart to hers.

My daughter was 3 1/2 when we completed the adoption, and no book could re-create our situation, or the unique circumstances of her adoption.. and I believe everyone's adoption is somewhat different. So, this book expresses the feelings we share for our adopted children, and they with us, does it not?

Summary: The book that I couldn't forget
Review: I bought this for a friend who had just adopted a toddler. It is such a sweet book about the emotions the adoptive parents go through, and how special adoption is. What a good way to introduce a small child to adoption.

Summary: Better Adoption Book
Review: I debated 4 or 5 stars. This book is not perfect but it is one of the better adoption tale books out there. Jamie Lee Curtis writes very nice childrens books!

This story doesn't quite follow how our adoption went but our children love it just the same. It follows how the parents get the call and bring the baby home.

The book is written the way young childrens book should be written so the parents can read the book with a nice pace, etc.

Summary: The book that I couldn't forget
Review: I read this book in a bookstore, before my husband and I were even considering adoption. It brought tears to my eyes, and I thought the story was beautifully, touchingly told. Several people in my family have been adopted, in different ways and at different times, and yet they all consider their adopted families their "real" families, and they all loved this book. It makes me cringe to hear adoptees talking about "completing their family trees" in such a way that they acknowledge the people who raised them as if it was a simple favor. Now, as we complete our own adoption, I can't wait to read our children this book. It's not exactly the same as our story, but the message is perfect.

Summary: TELL ME AGAIN--A CELEBRATION OF LOVE IN WORDS AND PICTURES!
Review: Initially, I ordered this book for my niece who is just a little more than 2 years old. Adopted by my younger sister in Russia at 10 months, her arrival in our family has been a joyous occurrence. One of the things I love and most look forward to is giving her books, telling her stories, and maybe even writing a book *for her* some day. Meanwhile, Jamie Lee Curtis has created a joyful interlude from her own experience as an adoptive parent. This book oozes love and whimsy, and the illustrations by Laura Cornell are delightful to the eye, yet filled with amusing details which will keep them fresh through at least a million readings;) I can't wait to read this story to my niece...if I can bring myself to part with the book!

A previous reviewer (apparently an unhappy adoptee) spouted opinions full of anger and resentment, alluding to "Jamie Lee's obvious bias against birth mothers." I found that very sad. After all, this is a children's book, and IMHO, it was created as a means of expressing an adoptive parent's joy and love for this child, and told through the eyes of the child, it has a precious quality, reminding us how easy it is to teach a child to love and be loved. This book is a treasure, and while I think it's a special gift for any adopted child, it's warmth and whimsy will prove irresistible to anyone who reads it!

Summary: A funny and sweet true-to-life adoption story.
Review: Tell Me Again: About the Night I Was Born is an account of that wished-for moment in every prospective adoptive parent's life: the phone call that brings them and their child together. Written in a sweet, easy language that a young child can understand, this book portrays both the magic and drama that accompany this momentous event. I've read the book a mere two weeks before our own call came and read it again upon returning home with our new son. I found so many similarities between the book and our own experience it brought tears to my eyes. It's a book I would love to share with my son when he is a little older. Any adopted child who has ever wondered "How did I come to be with you?" will be enriched by the magic this book conveys. The accompanying illustrations are vivd and happy, enriching the text and adding to the festive atmosphere. This book is all about love, and the message comes through loud and clear

Summary: This is a heartwarming book for adopted children.
Review: This book is about a young girl, who is asking her mother and father to tell her again about the night she was born. This little girl is adopted. She knows the story by heart. So, she ends up telling the story herself. This is a very heartwarming book. It begins with the phone ringing to tell them that she has been born. I cannot begin to express how touching this book is to me. The illustrations are adorable. They are so enticing to observe. The pictures capture Curtis's writing perfectly. Laura Cornell is a gifted illustrator who brings books to life in her drawings. I would definetly recommend this book. It makes me feel all warm inside when I read it. This book really brings out the true meaning of family and what it means to be loved.
