Rating: Summary: The Ink Drinker Review: I absolutely loved this book. I had a hard time trying to get my children to read but they loved this book and I even enjoyed reading it with them. This is a great book and I highly recommend it to anyone interested.
Rating: Summary: Great!~*~! Review: I thought this book was wonderful and filled with well thought ideas. It had a very suprising plot, but I have one complaint. The idea of an ink drinker instead of a vampire suprised me, but when I read the book I was disappointed at the fact that it had the same characteristics as a blood~sucking vampire.
Rating: Summary: great idea, big let down Review: I was excited to read this book because the idea of an ink drinking vampire was intriguing. As I read I became disappointed by the story and the style of writing. The author created an original premise and then fell back on the same tired vampire themes. Why couldn't the vampire live in the library or disappear into the internet? (I don't want to give too much away!) When I saw this book on the Harry Potter "people who bought this book...." list, I thought I would give it a try. I wonder if the other people that loved Harry Potter were as disappointed as me.
Rating: Summary: Interesting and Fun! Review: I'm not much for vampire books of any kind -- kids or adults, but this book is a lot of fun. It's about a boy who hates reading who discovers a vampire one night in his father's bookstore. This vampire is allergic to blood and finds an alternative lifesource. It's a quick read...only 35 pages. It's not the best story but it's lots of fun and definitely worth a read or check out from your local library!
Rating: Summary: The Ink Drinker Review: The Ink Drinker is a delightfully told tale from a French author. Indeed, the author's notes about himself in the back pages of the book are nearly as entertaining as the book itself. The story concerns a boy who spends his boring days in his father's bookshop, until one day a strange and mysterious man appears (he looks a little like Nosferatu)and begins sucking the ink from the volumes. The story is clever and it is fun to look at the untranslated French words that pop up in the illustrations. The reading level is put at 9-12 but I would stick toward the bottom of that rating guideline or even a little lower. Would also be a fun book to read aloud to the little ones. Could become a family favorite and handed down classic. Enjoy!

Rating: Summary: The Ink Drinker Review: This was highly suggested by the reading specialist in my school. As a librarian, I am interested in books that kids are enjoying. This was a perfect read-aloud for my upper elementary kids at Halloween. It does mention Dracula (renamed Draculink) but shows how you can "sink your teeth" into really good books. The kids love the humor, and understand the underlying meaning of the book. Highly recommended!!!
Rating: Summary: The Ink Drinker Review: Those who love books often describe their reactions to books in physical terms. This is the story of a being that must literally drink up words to sustain life. Poor Odilon cannot stand books. the fact his father owns a bookstore, loves books and can't understand why Odilon hates to read makes it worse. One day, while being pressed (forced) into helping his father, Odilon spies a creature that is slipping through the book stacks. What follows is a twist on the classic horror story. Without giving away the end too much, my only disappointment is the residence of the creature...too cliche. I wish he had resided in the old and rare books vault in a creepy basement somewhere. Nevertheless, a delightful book.
