Summary: Definitely NOT horrible!
Review: I bought this book for my son who is an avid reader of anything Egyptian and he devoured it happily. He found the interesting facts hard to resist and shared them with all of us. As a professional historian, I usually eschew things like this but I found it engaging when I read it. This is the type of book that homeshcooling parents love because it encourages a reluctant reader to learn and it cements the learning of one who is motivated. I highly recommend it.

Summary: An Absolutely Awesome book!
Review: I love the whole series of this "horrible histories" books. Ever since I got the first one, I can't wait to find more!! This is a great book! The book is full of pitures, like comic books. It makes the reader easy to understand and hard to forget!! Highly recommended for any one who's interested in history!

Summary: Entertaingly Educating
Review: I was introduced to these books in my late teens. While they are intended for a younger crowd, those who might not be so keen on idea of schooling and learning about "boring 'ole history" ... this defiantly lightens up anyones attitude on the subject. It's humorous, factual, and provides critical thinking/understanding to a culture form long ago. The cartoon companions are highly entertaining! As well as the, this-is-how-it-was-there-is-no-point-lying-to-you attitude of the writing. Of course, once you've become addicted to one, the others will somehow find they way onto your bookshelf...

Summary: Definitely NOT horrible!
Review: This is an awsome, truly wonderful book for any parent trying to motivate their children to read and enjoy history. terry Deary manages to present historically accurate information in a way that makes reading and learning extremely enjoyable. His use of kooky, strange or disgusting (but true) facts captivate children's minds and imagination, leading them into reading and absorbing other more important facts, as well as broadening their minds and teaching them about different ancient cultures! This book is one of a series that every parent should buy their child.
