Rating: Summary: Tongue twisters, Seuss style Review: "Oh Say Can You Say?" is a collection of tongue twisters from the fertile pen of the great Dr. Seuss. Each twister is accompanied by Seuss's characteristically whimsical illustrations. The collection is introduced by a frazzled-looking parrot named Hooey."Oh Say" contains Seussian imaginary creatures (the Schnak, the Grox, etc.) and silly characters ("a musical urchin named Gretchen von Schwinn," the acrobatic Fuddnuddler brothers, etc.). Along the way are such tongue-torturing phrases as "Skipper Zipp's Clipper Ship Chip Chop Shop." The colorful illustrations, as one might expect from Seuss, are bursting with surreal energy. Overall, a lot of fun, especially if you love rhyme and alliteration.
Rating: Summary: oh say can you say is a very good book Review: its a rhymeing book good for all ages and fun to read. It will leave you with a smile on your face wondering how he did it again. Dr. Seuss is a great author and shows you why once again in this book....
Rating: Summary: Oh say can you say Review: My 2-year-old loves the sounds and rhythms of the words. These are tongue-twisters that also rhyme, in that unique, Dr. Seuss style. Imaginative, wild and wonderful verses. I love reading them, as well, and my husband enjoyed them, too. Just alot of fun.
Rating: Summary: One of Our Favorites. Review: The first time my husband read this book to our daughter, we both split a gut! Then I tried, of course I was a little better :). Oh my goodness....the giggles from a 2 year old are fabulous. Now that she's three - it's even better. And when her conservative Pop-pop reads this book to her the laughs from the WHOLE family can wake up the neighbors! Lots of fun....GREAT book.
Rating: Summary: What a fun book! Review: This is a really fun book to read. However, you REALLY have to pay attention to the words or you will mess them up. If you love tongue twisters, this is the book for you. It also is great for young readers, but they may become frustrated with some of the words. It's fun for little ones to listen to and to see how fast you can say these phrases. When you hear "faster, faster," well, you know you're encouraging reading in your child. A very fun book - I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Word Winders Review: This was an absolutely wonderful book. I would recomend this book to anyone interested in reading a book that doesn't take long to read, and that is just a whole lot of fun. Dr. Seuss uses the sounds of words to make delightful, and humorous rhymes. I also love this book, because the humor,(unlike most of the reading materials today), is not offensive. This book is just one laugh after another. Kids will enjoy reading this book, because it is interesting, and engaging. Also, this book doesn't stay on one topic for too long, and for that reason, this book caters to young attention spans. All in all, it was a good book
Rating: Summary: Great for children with speech impediments Review: Toungue twisters are always fun! Especially for children with a speech impediment, they love to hear Mom, Dad, and siblings try to read this book too fast. It also helps them to slow down and ennuciate their words. I used it with two of my children to improve their speech patterns. They especially laughed when Mom ad Dad had trouble speaking, as you learn to toungue twisters try to say them faster and faster to keep your child praticing.
Rating: Summary: Tongue Fun for Everyone Review: We all know Dr. Seuss is the best, put your tongue twister skills to the test! Tho' this book's oft overlooked, I am sure you'll be hooked "Oh Say..." is a Seuss tongue-twist fest!
