Summary: Kat's Kind Review
Review: I've been reading to my son since he was first born, and he is now 5 1/2 months old. Out of all the books I've bought for him, he by far loves his Maisy books!! His eyes light up at the pictures, and he starts babbling (talking) to the book! My husband and I love reading them to him because the stories are so cute and easy to read. Thank god for Amazon because I haven't been able to find all of the books anywhere else. This book in particular is a life saver, because at night he often gets a little fussy and I read this to him before bedtime--it helps to calm him down!

Summary: Maisy Gets Ready for Bed
Review: If you are the parent of a young child, you probably know who Maisy is. She's a mouse with a duck, a squirrel, an elephant, and a crocodile for friends. Why the crocodile isn't trying to eat the others is beyond me, but that's life in Maisy's world.

Both of my daughters love the Maisy books; there's something about their simple stories and colorful pictures that even appeals to adults. The books are short and easy to read. But, the stories are never obnoxiously simplistic, like so many other books for small children.

This is great to read at bedtime, esspecially if you can convince your child to pretend they are Maisy going to sleep. Maisy's preparing for bed and her preparations include a trip to the potty. The first time you see that page, it's actually kind of funny. This is one of my daughters' favorite Maisy books.

Summary: Maisy to the rescue - bedtime ritual
Review: If you have a reluctant toddler, Lucy Cousins' Maisy can help reinforce bedtime rituals and good habits. Maisy washes up, uses the potty and puts on pajamas. She even reads in bed - just like Mommy and Daddy read their child. Bright, clear pictures and soothing text make this our daughter's favorite go-to-sleep book.

Summary: A bedtime book with Maisy as the star
Review: Maisy is a mouse with her own television show on Nickelodeon. The show is done in a narrated style on the adventures of Maisy. The books are based on the Audio Visual Series.

Each book is based on a theme that carries over to the television show. On the left page is the text with the right page showing Maisy doing each task to prepare for bedtime.

Maisy has a toy panda that she likes to cuddle up with and the story starts with Maisy looking at the clock heading up the stairs with panda because they are sleepy and it is time for bed. Maisy wears a green jumper with a blue shirt.

Once Maisy is in her room she walks over to the window to draw the curtains, placing the panda on the windowsill. The owl is outside the window hooting, while we see the stars and the moon one last time before closing the curtains.

Maisy's Bedtime is a easy to follow format for any child to make part of their nightly routine. The similarities and routines for the mouse are the same for children of all ages. I think the only thing missing was going for the drink of water or milk like so many little ones do in stalling the inevitable bedtime.

The book has great vibrant colors that are the same as on the television show. Maisy has the pink ears and tail while Panda is black with the white tummy and face.

It would also be nice to have cassette tapes to go with the books so we could sing the Maisy song and hear the narrator's voice. Other than my two suggestions this is the perfect addition for the family library. Also the features of Maisy and the pictures are very easy to copy with my son drawing pictures of Maisy, plus we have the coloring book.

Summary: Kat's Kind Review
Review: The children's book Maisy's Bedtime by Lucy Collins was not a very interesting book. I think the only reason that it was not very interesting to me was because I am an older child and the book was angled towards younger children. The book basically tells how Maisy gets ready for bed. It tells every single step that she takes in order to get to bed. For instance she has to close her bedroom curtains, then she had to put on her pajamas, brush her teeth, use the bathroom etc; I would only recommend this book to children that are the ages 2 to 6.

Summary: Maisy RULES!
Review: These books are FANTASTIC! My two and a half yr old has been enjoying this series since DAY ONE! No matter what maisy book, she loves it. This one is all about getting ready for bed, brushing teeth, using the potty and a special little teddy bear. These books rule. We've even bought them in italian versions because they are so appealing. The illustrations are perfectly suited to toddlers, bright, simple and cheerful!(I Love Them TOO! ) You can't go wrong with maisy!
