Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book! Review: I also bought this book after seeing the short on Nick Jr. This book is my 2-year-old's favorite. The art is beautiful and appealing to all ages. I would recommend this to any parent. It is fun to read, and it is also interesting to hear others read it. You'll notice that each person will stress the words differently and can put a complete different meaning to each page.
Rating: Summary: Love, it, Love it, Love it! Review: I bought this book after hearing Spike Lee read it on NickJr. My daughter was about 18 months old at the time and responded to this book with laughs and claps. She loves it and have even taken up saying, "Baby, baby, baby!" This is a wonderful book and the illustrations are perfect.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly good and great pictures Review: I picked up this book for the wonderful illustrations and how it mirrored my life with my 20-month old son. He loves the book and sometimes when he is dumping food or not sharing his toys, I just say "Please, baby, please" and he actually will stop. He also likes to chide the little girl's actions when reading the book. When he sees her coloring on the wall, he tells her "only on paper, baby", our mantra.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Review: I saw this book in (...) bookstore. At first, I wasn't going to buy it because $16.95 is alot of money to spend on a book for a small child. Especially when it isn't a board book. I was afraid one of my children or both would tear the pages but once I leafed through the pages I had to have it. The illustrations are gorgeous and reminded me of my own daughter-she has done just about all of those things. It is the sweetest book ever. We have been reading it since last summer and my daughter is 2 now. She asks to read it every night before bed and even though she can't actually read, she knows what is happening on each page. Kadir Nelson is a brilliant artist. I plan to invest in more of his work. His illustrations brought life to the story and the baby was so life like that it's easy to see your own child in her.

Rating: Summary: Not a baby Review: Isn't anyone annoyed by this book? The child pictured is not a baby. A toddler of this age should be learning appropriate behaviors and parents shouldn't be pleading -- a la please, baby, please -- for good behavior. I read it to my son only once and wouldn't have at all if I had been smart enough to read it myself first. A child of this age needs to know his parent is in charge, and not a simpering, pleading wimp. It's a shame people tolerate bad behavior in children, let alone find it amusing. Books like this don't help.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Review: My 3- year old loves this book. The illlustrations are beautiful Thanks to Kadir Nelson. The book makes her laugh and she is reading it on her own now.
Rating: Summary: My son never grows tired of it! Review: My son is 2,and has loved all the popular favorites ("The Hungry Caterpiller", "Goodnight Moon", etc.), but he has never taken to a book as he has this one. It's the first book I've actually seen him reading out loud to himself, page by page, and he does it over and over. The illustrations are delightful, the scenes sweetly familiar, and the rhythm of the simple writing is spunky and fresh. I've grown to love the little toddler in this book, and treasure the moments I've shared reading it with my child. This one is a keeper, and should reach the level of "standard reading" for any child in years to come.
Rating: Summary: Frozen in time Review: Please Baby Please, is a nightly read for my 15 month old daughter. It was a gift from her aunt, intended for her older brother age 2. The first time she listen to the book being read she was frozen in time. She sat so still. This book is truely about her! Now each time I attempt to read any other book she shouts, "Pies Bobby Pies", and I know then she wants to read, "Please Baby Please". Spike and his wife did a wonder job on this book. My kids and I are looking forward to more great books from them.
Rating: Summary: My kids love this book! Review: Rarely does my 2-year old sit through a reading of a whole book. This one he does! And my 3-year old as well. They love chanting "Please, baby, please!" and the other variations of that phrase throughout the book. The story is fun and something that both my kids and I can relate to - an adorable toddler getting into trouble. The combination of excellent writing and beautiful illustrations make this a huge hit with my family!
